Do you ship Leonie and Cabal? I’ve never read the books, but I’ve been curious. Though I’m not much for romance in the novels I read; is there a confirmed romance between them or is it mostly up for interpretation? Are there implications?

anyway re canon they kinda flirt a little. but thats about it. spoilers but cabal initially was reminded of his dead fiance i guess they kinda look alike. leonie hates him at first for good reason but by the end theyre friendly. shes a good influence on him AND hes a bad influence on her which is delectable no matter if you ship them or not imo
as for me idk i like their dynamic? i wouldnt hate it if they got together tbh. but i dont have a lot hanging on this im not especially invested. a book is always better when its got leonie, watching them interact is always fun, and part of that is that theres a bit of tension i guess. its entertaining! and it would continue to be extremely entertaining if it went that direction, but it wouldnt stop being entertaining if it didnt
but usually when i do ship smth personally its bc im invested and i think the characters should totally b together, thats how i enjoy engaging with fiction and romance usually

chomping at the bit for maple durham tho wait you said you hadnt read the books you dont know what that is. its leonie and cabals third meeting. we have seen in the main series their first meeting their second meeting and their fourth meeting. they allude to christmas at maple durham at their fourth meeting and JLH is writing it as a short story but its in publication hell i guess. im sure its going to be delicious though
TLDR i certainly am not reading johannes cabal for the romance, that would be slim pickings
