I'm sorry if I asked this before, everyone. But I am curious:

Peeps from all 'round really, really enjoyed the "Because I Let My Guard Down" scene with Claire and Clanice. A Let's Player got teary eyed, even! Mind if I ask for the personal reason it resonated with you, or felt like one of the stronger scenes in Women of Xal?

Asking because I never wrote it to be a big gut punch; just sort of... an excercise of animated dialogue and really wanting to hit home why Clanice and Claire are the way they are. #TheXimorisAreDisasters

he decides to clean up his act and shows up at the family home completely unannounced

jackie and steve are a little surprised but they’re always happy to see him and they end up having a real heart to heart

john apologizes profusely to his parents for being such a shitty son and he wants to make up for it

john showers his mother with so much affection and does literally everything with her

she wants to redo the whole garden, he’s there digging in the dirt with her and planting flowers (his fingers might have gotten pricked by thorns but it’s fine because he doing it for his mama)

john and steve revive a tradition that started when john was a little kid that involves eating cookies with milk late at night

madison and john bond over training at the family gym together

when jackie becomes sick, john is by her side every day and loves to take her to the park for walks

family dinner actually becomes an enjoyable occasion and happens more than once every few months

no more arguments between john and his family, they still have little disagreements, but his resentment towards his father literally disappears

What's Aspen's relationship like with her parents?

asp gets on super well with both of her parents, she’s like...the black sheep of riverdale because her relationship with her parents is so healthy and normal and like they’re just really great people who can’t do enough for their kid? they have worked their assess of their whole lives to be able to provide for their daughter, and they will do whatever it takes to keep her safe and make her happy. sending aspen to a top college is their top goal and they’ll do anything to achieve it. for real the mills fam is goals, i wish i was their kid.
