A Legacy Never to be Forgotten
Today I say goodbye to Arby n the Chief, as I have finally watched the conclusion the 6 year adventure of two of the most lovable characters I have had the privilege of meeting. I've been there since the beginning, "Master Chief Sucks at Halo". My 11 year old self in absolute fanaticism with Halo. After all, I played the game series since I was 5, beginning with Combat Evolved. Six years ago John CJG started something that would stick with me for my entire childhood. The ending could not have made me more sad. But it is not a sorrow I feel that casts me away from the series, but an ending that solidified my love for it. Even now I try and hold back tears... scratch that, i just felt some roll off my face... I remember downloading the first two episodes of the series to my PSP and showing it to my friends and having great laughs. But I had so many more as the series progressed. The show takes it's turns from pure comedy to a half-time serious show. Then it molded into a series for thought. John pulled us in with humor and sent us out with emotion. True emotion. He gave us characters we could sympathize and sometimes even empathize with. He gave us characters we cared for, no matter how silly their agendas became. He gave /me/ part of my childhood. For that, I have absolute gratitude for. And for that, John, Arby n the Chief will always have a place in my heart.
