For years, we’ve seen them: crop circles, large circular formations resembling flying saucers, which usually appear in the middle of nowhere. Most call them a hoax, but a faithful few see them as a message from aliens. John Codling, an artist who received high praise for his portraits of Christopher Walken and a 46-foot-tall re-creation of the World Trade Center, is alien agnostic. But now the native of Levittown, New York, has taken a leap and focused his attention on something more out of this world. We recently traveled to Kansas and caught up with Codling as he created the world’s largest crop circle, in an attempt to answer the aliens back. That is, if they’re really out there.
