Lucas de Lima's Wet Land was named #40 in Coldront's Top 40 Poetry Books of 2014. John Deming also called the book one of the "strangest" books of the year:

"To call any book of poetry the 'strangest' of the year would have to be an overstatement given the number and variety of modes that poets publish in these days. Suffice it to say, a lot of people are trying a lot of things. But rarely does a balancing act as bizarre as Lucas De Lima’s in Wet Land come so fully realized, so humane, so self-aware, so diabolical."
