Bad Assumptions, Buckaroo
Am I the only one who is bothered that Buckaroo takes it on faith that John Emdall is the goodie and her accusations about John Whorfin are justified?
I mean, okay, Whorfin is a bit screwy but he is having to live inside Dr. Emilio Lizardo's head ever since the failed crossover. But consider:
Whorfin's speeches include values of social unity, personal character, and loyalty. While he may not hold the Earth in much esteem, he shows no desire to subjugate, oppress, or destroy the "monkeyboys."
Emdall's communique to Buckaroo is full of revolutionary jargon and rhetoric. Most alarming is Emdall's threat to put in motion the annihilation of Earth if Buckaroo does not destroy or incapacitate John Whorfin.
Both sides of the Lectroid conflict have their unsavory element. John Bigboote has little patience for monkeyboys and shows some insubordination, but John O'Connor seems pleasant enough. The Black Lectroid command seems to have no qualms ordering John Gant to destroy himself when his thermal pod is discovered by Red Lectroids.
Buckaroo is a bright guy. All I'm saying is he really should do some fact checking before annihilating people.
