1. Why did you go into the arts?
Because that's where my gifts lie.
2. How has your queer identity affected your art?
It is central to it.
3. What was your most fulfilling artistic experience?
Producing a show that eventually won a Tony.
4. Any advice for you younger LGBTQ artists who are still finding their voices?
Tell the story you're afraid to tell.
5. What is your recent project and how does it reflect your voice as an artist?
Narrating historical events through vintage photography. Results can be seen on my PBase account.
