Your Fave Is Catholic: John Pinette

Known for: Beloved stand up comedian & Broadway actor, he was loved for his stand up specials & talking about various subjects like food, attempted weight loss, buffets, crazy trips with families, & doing impressions from Ewoks to Gollum. He also played Edna Turnblad in the Broadway production of Hairspray, & received much acclaim. He also appeared in various television shows & films during his life such as Seinfeld, ALF, Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist, Simon Sez, & The Punisher.

Evidence of Faith: During his life, John was a practicing Catholic. He graduated from Malden Catholic High School growing up, & this helped to influence his comedy routines (examples: he mentioned an angel flying over a Dairy Queen & called it “Saint Blizzard”, he talked about God & the angel Gabriel disliking the taste of turnips & burying it underground in attempt to hide it, etc.) Now one from my own personal experience: In one stand up show that the moderator saw live back in 2012, at one point in his routine he mentioned that he was Catholic, though not a very good one, which illustrates good Catholic humility.
