Then Jesus said to those who believed in him, If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.

Jesus: if you listen to me, you'll know the truth. By leading an honest life your spirt will become free. Jews: were already free. We were born free... Jesus: your sins hold you back. So you are not free. So when you die, your spirt won't go to heaven.
