I dont know how accurate Johnathan McIntosh’s Steven Universe video is with regards to SU(I’v never watched it).  But in terms of other content its the same ‘there is one right way to express emotions, and men who dont fit this model of emotional expression are repressing themselves’ that we have heard time and again from feminists.  

Its so utterly predictable and obviously silly, it would be funny if it wernt so sad and pathetic

The idea is that if a player experiences the POV of a female avatar, they’ll understand the female experience better.

Example: Nilin in Remember Me is the POV character. Edge actually moves the plot forward.

Just as the Bechdel test can overlook female characters, so can looking for female led games.

I fear there’s the potential to overlook potentially great female supporting characters in video games.
