I was asked about how to find herds in the Johne's disease Market Assurance Program .  You just select goats as species then choose your breed.  Many don't have enough herds to choose from but it is chicken and egg situation.  Once people realize how devastating Johne's disease can be then the demand will grow

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources, Barnaby Joyce says Japan and Australia have worked together to reach an agreement on improved export certification processes for all cattle consignments.

Let's hope that future live cattle exports only come from Johne's negative herds so there is no further suspensions of the Japanese market. Goat breeders should learn from the cattle industry's mistake.

Johne's disease () is an animal disease and disorder in Queensland.

Johne's disease remains notifiable in Queensland & is a Category 1 restricted matter.  But herds will no longer be quarantined & herds with Johne's interstate can now sell into Queensland (if the potential goat owner is silly enough to buy them).

SRUC Leads Scottish Meeting of GB Johne’s Programme - The Milne family’s dairy farm at East Pitforthie near Brechin hosted the first Scottish event in the GB wide programme targeting Johne’s, a debilitating cattle disease.

UK starts new Johne's disease program that aims to enroll 80% of dairy farms   22 milk processors on board already. Great news.  Australia seems to be going in the wrong direction.  #goatvet agrees- the first step is to find out if herds have it.
