John Greene never disappoints me!
What books make you cry when you read them? . . The Fault in Our Stars by John Greene and Tyler Johnson Was Here by Jay Coles both bring me to tears. Their descriptions of loss and love are realistic and give the reader a glimpse into what it's like to deal with what seem to be impossible situations. . . Book 3 of The Blood Series: The Bloodlands also has a theme of love and loss. And, although set in a more fantastically dark world than The Fault in Our Stars and Tyler Johnson was here, I hope that both the characters and my emotions reach my audience. . . #bookchallenge #readers #thefaultinourstars #tylerjohnsonwashere #johngreene #authors #jaycoles #blackauthors #indieauthors #TheBloodBook3 #thebloodseries #characters #emotions #themesof #love #loss #death https://www.instagram.com/p/B-b_vcZAPj7/?igshid=ys1tyo520so8

"I'm starting to realize that people lack good mirrors. It's so hard for anyone to show us how we look, and so hard for us to show anyone how we feel." -John Greene PaperTowns.

Okay? okay.
The average person tells 4 lies a day, 1460 lies a year; a total of 87,600 lies by the age of 60. And the most common lie is, “I’m fine”.
Have you ever wondered why that is? Why is there such a premium on appearing okay? Is it because we all secretly know how fucked up the world is and that people who are truly coping are the ones who are winning and we all just want to be perceived as being one…

I love when people talk about books like they’re people
John Greene calling the great gatsby “this slender beast” in a crash course lit episode like it’s has the capacity to curl in your lap and snooze but also claw your face off
