happy paper towns day for all those who celebrate
«Margo was not a miracle. She was not an adventure. She was not a fine and precious thing. She was a girl.»
Lost in Suburbia (2013)
“Nothing ever happens like you imagine it will… but then again, if you don’t imagine, nothing ever happens at all. Imagining isn’t perfect. You can’t get all the way inside someone else… But imagining being someone else, or the world being something else, is the only way in." John Green
I need a new book written by John Green.
Book of the Week No.29 Paper Towns by John Green Rate: 10/10 Favorite Line: "Every moment of your life is lived for the future." Review: Written by John Green and first published on 2008 by Dutton Pub, 'Paper Towns' is a YA (somewhat mystery) novel that follows Q's romantic feelings for his childhood neighbor Margo, a mysterious girl who embraces life without inhibitions. So I believe, John Green is once again successful on creating a meaningful literary piece. I love the central concept of this novel and this is how I get it— someone's display of character depends on the other ones who perceive it. We expect a lot to a person that we end up deceiving ourselves by assuming what we thought they are. These expectations are deemed doubled especially when we like a person or for our loved ones. John Green represented these on this book. For me, this is true and we all need admission to this fact. I also loved how Green created Margo for a character. Mystifying, personal, cheerful and outward. She initiated this idea of paper towns that runs the whole premise of the novel. So when Margo disappears, Quentin follows a trail of clues to discover the true meaning of 'paper towns' and 'paper people.' And that's it, Q's special adventure for his lifetime. Also, Whitman poems!!! Ugh. I even bought the Canterbury Classics edition of it for honor of this book. It just comes into my mind like how does John Green exert so much time and effort to read and research other literature to use as a device for his own story. Overall, it was a straight re-read. John Green never fails to offer a bookful enjoyment.
