Porcelain Paradise – Book Launch Recap
Porcelain Paradise is the title of the latest publication that was accompanied by a solo exhibition containing exclusive paintings created by John Kaye, held at the Culprit Club in Brisbane, Australia.
Porcelain Paradise as a publication was created from a personal journal that contained daily thoughts and drawings – recorded over a four month period in eight different countries beginning in January 2016. The artwork exhibited in this show was inspired and created throughout this experience.
Kaye approached every book as its own piece of artwork and they remain extremely limited due to the personalised nature of the finished creation. Every copy of the ‘Porcelain Paradise – The Collectors Edition’ has a hand painted cover on high quality canvas that has been made from a piece of a painting done by Kaye as part of an exclusive outdoor series of graffiti experiments prior to the release. They were then carefully cut to fit and assembled by hand, along with a list of other exclusive additional pieces to complete what is best described as a limited interactive journal.
‘PORCELAIN PARADISE – The Collectors Edition’ contains –
– 40 page signed travel zine
– An original hand painted piece of artwork and handmade packaging.
– Bonus personal polaroid photo book with every copy.
– New collectable artist sticker.
