@johnlocktm replied to your post “Also!! Stop!! Hating!! On!! Mary!! Y’all only hate her because she...”
not sure if ur aware but moffat literally included a canonical lesbian version of holmes/watson in an episode of doctor who....like they were married and everything.....but ok
@snovyda, this is what I wrote yesterday about.
First of all, if we are there, Moffat has a weird hard-on on Victorian era, often focusing on that time period, and including period costumes and hairstyles (particularly for women) into, hear me, SPACE. Other planets! Future, even! Like, mark me bisaed, but what woman would willingly put on that? Moffat even managed to incorporate his weird boner into Sherlock itself. Christmas special last year, anyone?
Same Christmas special that shown suffragettes as rabid killer masterminds? Idk about you, but the mere memory makes me taste ash.
And as for Vastra and Jenny... Are you seriously poise them as good representation? Or a proof that Moffat can potentially make Johnlock canon? Seriously?
Vastra/Jenny left a weird kiny aftertaste every time they appeared on screen with clear d/s undertones. Is that how Moffat sees lesbians? It probably is.
Also please don’t forget that Eleven fucking KISSED Jenny, and he knew Jenny is a lesbian! One would try to chalk it up to “doctor doesn’t understand, he’s an alien”, except somhow Ten or Nine were never like that. Also Jack Harkness, the dude from 51st century who literally would shag anyone with a postcode, never kissed anyone who wasn’t willing to be kissed.
So anyway, Vastra/Jenny is not a good example.
Last, but not least, I want to quote Moffat himself: “[Sherlock] wouldn't be living with a man if he thought men were interesting.” Think on it. Fucking think, before pulling some token representation that Moffat incuded only to apease others as a proff Johnlock can ever be written as canon.
