The CHEF serves well to eyes and More…

Already released in U.S. in May, the movie had its first screening in India yesterday as a paid preview before its release today. I watched it with my wife at PVR Select CityWalk yesterday night and it was such a great experience. You can watch the trailer on YouTube and read about the storyline on wiki. I am gonna try and it without revealing much about it here.

As the name suggests, I was expecting to see a lot of food being cooked and the professional art of it; and I was not disappointed. The best thing about it was that the writer-director and co-producer, who is also the lead – Jon Favreau – has taken care that every character in his story comes out “beautifully cooked”; including the two minutes cameo from Robert Downey Jr. Yes, being a fan, I was also hoping to see more of him as I watched the trailer but his role being short does not decrease chef’s flavor. The movie has a lot to offer, a broken marriage going rebound, a father-son duo, friendships; the chef once also has to confront his ex-wife’s ex-husband. Importance of Social media is also well depicted; one can destroy himself unknowingly and one can make use of even the negative publicity to make a comeback.

The all-happy mood of the comedy and the delicious food being served all along gave us the appetite to storm to Johnny Rockets in the same mall, which served us with full enthusiasm even when we entered the restaurant just five minutes before their closing time.

Onion rings and the drinks could not last until I took out the phone to click this. I will surely visit again with an even bigger appetite to try other offerings in their menu.

Good food after a good movie with good company….. it set my mood so good that I didn’t even feel bad for the Rs. 300 penalty I had to pay for the loss of parking ticket :p
