I am currently a year 3 York comm major student. I am interested in the "Broadcasting - Television(Joint Seneca/York)" program. If I wanna register it for next year (year 4), do I apply it via York's site or on Seneca's site? Also, it says the joint program is a 2 year course, so does it mean I will have one year extra to do in order to grad? (originally 4 years for a comm major)
You can’t apply through York because it’s essentially a Seneca program, so you need to apply through www.ontariocolleges.ca and you would no longer be a York student. From what I can tell, you would have to pursue this program after your graduate as it’s a full time program and it wouldn’t be possible to do a degree at the same time as the diploma. To finish the diploma in 2 years you have to take 4-7 courses each semester.
No, it means that you will no longer be continuing in the Communication Studies degree after you apply and will be doing an additional 2 years in the broadcasting program through Seneca. That’s what I have understood from the Seneca website: http://www.senecacollege.ca/fulltime/RTYT.html#layer7 ,but you can clarify with admissions at Seneca.
