Post 0036: My New Musical Obsession: Oldies J-Pop by usotaku.
I hit up you tube the other day and was surprised to find something brand new in my suggested videos. Now I’ve been a fan of J-music for some years now and I’ve thought about looking through the various years to see what was offered but I never had. Enters youtube and beats me to the punch by dropping a vid to a song by Taeko Ohnuki. I thought I was getting some new J-pop artist and then find out that its actually from the 70′s and the more I listened the more I freaking loved it.
Now I’m not that big on oldies American music unless its classic rock but I do from time to time give it a listen for a few select artists but I’ve listened to almost everything Ive found so far in what I’d call J-Oldies. It is so mellow and lyrically smooth with just that right bit of up beat that just tickles the ears and just puts a smile on you face. If you don’t believe me have a listen to this full album by Rajie from 1978 and decide for your self. Until next time, Jane!
