Post 0040: Wotakoi: Love is Hard of Otaku First Impression by usotaku

Since the start of this season I know I’ve been posting these first Impressions on new shows and I’m not really sure if this is something I’ll keep doing in to the future or not but I’ve been really impressed so far with some of these new Anime. Love is Hard for Otaku fallows almost in the same foot prints as Gamers with out all the crazy mixed up confusion for the sake of being confused and actually paints a very good picture of the relationship between two functional Otaku. I say functional because they have a job and friends out side of their hobby life. 

The story centers on two childhood friends that end up working at the same company and finally begin dating as adults who are both in to anime, games, cons and cosplay. The relationship starts off with an awkward confession and a lack of any momentum as they come to terms with how they feel about each other and where to go from here especially when their mutual friends and fellow otaku couple gets involved. 

The first two episodes were really enjoyable and while they relied on some old anime tropes for their comedy it was well timed and pretty funny. In the land of Romcoms its rare to find a truly genuine depiction of how people are in real life that doesn’t take its self to seriously but this series even pokes fun at us as well. All together this really seems like a very light hearted show that will be really enjoyable in a season of really great shows. If your not watching and can tune in on Amazon Prime I defiantly recommend catching this one especially if you love Romcoms. Until Next time, jane!

Post 0050: This is Some of the Best Analysis I’ve Seen on YouTube by usotaku

After I don’t know how long this has been sitting in my drafts but I’m finally getting the chance to post this up. Post 00075: Key Visuals for Upcoming Steins;Gate 0 Released by usotaku

Its happening! Steins;Gate 0 is coming in April and above countdown which was set to expire today launched the official website. The websites launch introduced key visuals for the up coming series including character designs and the official trailer. Looking at the visuals there have been some major changes in the characters looks which differ quite a bit from the original series but that should be expected with the changes between the two world lines as explained in the series and with how their circumstances has diverged. I’m defiantly looking forward to this release and with out a doubt will be watching it this spring. So until next time, jane!

Post 00067: Can Geoff Thew Save SAO II by usotaku

I’ve defiantly never mad it a secret that I actually like SAO. It was a captivating story the first time I watched it and an equally enjoyable one the second time I watched it. I do of course realize its many and glaring flaws and I would like to see those flaws addressed and fixed to make it an actual viable story that I just can’t get enough of. Enter Geoff Thew, You Tuber and thoughtful critic. It was one of his videos that actually introduced me to Showa Genroku and I’m extremely grateful. 

Then comes How to Fix SAO. Rather than slinging around the traditional SAO hate he takes the time to outline the second arcs issues and just how to fix them. Many of the points he illustrates and his suggested fixes for them are extremely workable and contain only a few minor alterations I as someone who more than dabbles in writing would make. At one point I did start building and idea based heavily on SAO and but with out its flaws and may return to it one day. Until then you should check out this video and some of the other content he has to offer because you certainly won’t be disappointed. Until next time, jane!

Post 00055: Commemorating 25 Years of Yu Yu Hakusho With New Animated Release by usotaku

It's hard to believe that 25 years have gone by since Yu Yu Hakusho first made its appearance in Shonen Jump. Today the animation is dated the story is a bit goofy and the dub just reminds us of how few really good ones there were in the 90's. Still it's a classic anime that has defined a generation of fans and still continues to deliver even today despite its age. 

The announcement was made at this years Jump Festa that along with the special release of the Blu Ray set a new animated feature would be included. No details on what the feature would be have been released but If you have the opportunity to get your hands on it you probably won’t be disappointed. Well that’s it for now. Until next time, jane!

Post 00048: Sharla In Japan Takes us Inside the Onsen by usotaku

It’s not all that often that I watch to many J-vloger videos but when one comes up in my YouTube suggestions that catches my attention I click on it pretty quickly. Of those videos Sharla in Japan is one of the few that I do watch with kind of regularity especially when she features things unique to Japan and there is nothing more unique than the Japanese Onsen (public bath). You’ve probably seen them from time to time in a number of anime and if you’ve ever wondered what one actually looks like on the inside Sharla has 3 you can get your eye balls on. Oh, and incase your wondering the vid is add friendly so no you don’t get a “great view.” 

Of all them I did remember seeing the thumbnail one in Rama 1/2 at although I think was a lot bigger but the layout was the same. So once again have some fun talking a look at how life inspires art and maybe give Sharla a like or if you like this vid check out some of others and perhaps start fallowing her as well. Post 00029: Gigguk Talks Kimi No Na Wa and The Result is as Deep as the Film by usotaku

It feels like forever since I’ve found a YouTube vid I’ve felt like sharing because there just hasn’t been much posting about but Gigguk did a really great analysis of Your Name. When I reviewed this film I didn’t get to deep in to it because who wants to read all that when all they want to know was if it was good or not. Still I have felt a bit like some of my reviews have been a bit to weak and this was one of them. So after watching Gigguk’s video I realized he just put in to words everything I loved about this film I was unable to.

Gigguk is a UK base Ani-Tuber who has seen a lot of recent success with in the Anime community. I was first introduced to his videos by You Tube’s recommendation algorithm after watching Aki and Joey’s videos. While I’m not a fan and only occasionally watch one or two of his vids he does do a really good job with some of his analysis vids and this was by far one of his best.

Kimi No Na Wa was a land mark film that has left a huge impression not just on me but on the community as a whole in a way that is hard to put in to words. In fact this is the first You Tuber I’ve seen get in to such depth and actually touch the heart of what this film truly was. So if you have’t seen the film yet there are spoilers and if you have seen it then I hope you find this as good as I did. Thank you Gigguk for putting this out there with all the great thought and time you put in to it.
