Eun Sang knew she was in deep trouble when she saw the pile of paperwork on her desk she had to sort through and groaned aloud when she opened her email and saw that her new boss had forwarded her 2 reports he wanted done and summarized by tomorrow.
She looked back at her blank screen where she was suppose to write a report and cursed her boss for doing this to her.
She hated him with all her being, the new director had came from abroad and had demanded his father to give him Eun Sang because 'he wanted someone capable of keeping up with him'.
That was most definitely was bullcrap, all he wanted was to make her life hell she was sure of it.
She had always hated him before he had came back, especially when they were in high school. Her family had worked for the Choi family for decades.
When her parents passed away in a car accident Dong Wook had taken good care of her and treated her like a daughter.
Young Do and her had once been so close people always thought they would end up together. But something changed in Young Do when his mom passed. He became distant and wanted nothing to do with her once they were in their second year in high school.
It was that year when Eun Sang lost her parents only a month later had he asked his father to let him study in the States. Eun Sang had been devastated but had accepted the fact that her relationship with Young Do would never be the same.
But the day before her best friends Hyo-Shin and Myung-Soo who worked in the company's HR department had teased her to no end when they heard Young Do was back.
They all had gone to the same school together and we're close Myung-Soo and Hyo-Shin always said Young Do and Eun Sang would eventually get married because of how much they bickered back then.
She sighed and looked at her word document and felt annoyed, even though her old boss/father figure Dong Wook promised Young Do was going to be nice and treat her properly, she knew he was not.
He seemed bitter and like a definite asshole.
Her best friend Hyo-Shin texted her "How are you holding up?"
She could almost hear him snicker "Why does my demise amuse you Hyo-Shin ah?" She replied smiling at her phone.
She was finishing up a report for her new boss, and decided to take a small break and kept texting back and forth with Hyo-Shin and then suddenly she was in a group up text with both Hyo-Shin and Myung-Soo.
Myung-Soo "My Eun Sangie when will you call me 'oppa' like you're suppose to?"
She giggled to herself and replied "If I call you oppa again will you start telling people again I am your girlfriend?"
Hyo-Shin responded "You know damn right he is" her phone vibrated in her hand
"No I learned my lesson from the last time you pinched my arm and left a bruise" Myung-Soo replied and Eun Sang knew he was pouting at his phone screen and rubbing his arm absent minded. She knew him well after all.
"Okay Myung-Soo oppa" she knew that would ignite Hyo-Shin to reply angrily why she didn't call him oppa again too and through laughs she was having looking at her screen, she had failed to notice her boss Young Do behind her.
He leaned in and whispered " I wasn't aware-" a startled Eun Sang dropped her phone when she felt his breath on her ear
"I paid you to be on your phone with your boyfriend" he finished saying as he leaned against her desk.
She got up quickly and bowed her head "I am so sorry Director" Eun Sang bit her lip and looked down to avoid any eye contact "I'll have those reports and every file sorted by tomorrow" she said to him as he paced back and forth in front of her.
"It's OK secretary of mine it had been rumored your so called boyfriend was Myung-Soo" he said and Eun Sang could swear she heard his jaw pop but too afraid to meet his eyes she kept her head down."He's not my boyfriend we're really good friends but that's all" she wasn't sure why she had to clarify that with him out of all people.
He cleared his throat and stopped his pacing. " Hmm OK then. I'll be in my office hope to not come back out here to you fooling around" he closed his office door and Eun Sang took a deep breath only to have his cologne intoxicate her nostrils. She was mad at herself for feeling a longing to hold him and take in more of his scent, she wasn't sure why he still made her nervous or angry or even why he gave her butterflies like in the past.
She sat back down on her desk and picked up her phone from the floor.
She didn't look at her screen and tossed the phone inside her drawer and started on the second report.
