okay, so jon brion is my favorite composer. he did the soundtrack for eternal sunshine, paranorman, ladybird etc. i was listening to kings crossing by elliott smith and i heard a hook that sounded so similar to me. i couldnt place it at first but i KNEW it was a jon brion song. come to find out its this, one of the most beautiful songs on the paranorman soundtrack, on any soundtrack really. i know theyre both long but if u listen closely to the middle parts they follow the same chords! im so excited to make this connection lol. come to find out they collaborated before he died!!!! im so sad but ive always associated their sounds and now i know why! 🦋

Happy Father's Day! And happy anniversary to Punch Brothers' second album, Antifogmatic, which was released 15 years ago today. Oh, boy! The quintet honed these songs over impromptu sessions at The Living Room in NYC, then recorded them live at LA's Ocean Way studio with producer Jon Brion. "Antifogmatic brims with color, wit, flash and tenderness," says the Wall Street Journal, "all conveyed with remarkable musicianship and high spirits."
