Have you ever been in love with someone you can’t have? Like you would do anything for that person and they still only treat you like a friend, despite crying on your shoulder after her boyfriend yells at her, lays on your chest and falls asleep easily, tells you how she wishes he was more like you, or that she loves you. Well, I fell in love with Daniela Avanzini from Katseye after we met at some stupid Hollywood hills party, she got way too drunk, started fighting with her douchebag of a boyfriend and asked me to bring her home.
I’m his biggest hater, if she let me swing on him I would. Sadly “she loves him”, bullshit if you ask me OR the rest of her group, they all see straight through her “I love him defense”. Megan and Lara always try to flirt with me, but I struggle with entertaining them because I’m too focused on Daniela. Her perfume lingers on all of my furniture, on my hoodies, my sheets, basically on everything. I was aimlessly scrolling on TikTok and X seeing all of the different theories that fans have about Daniela and I, surprisingly, fans also think Megan and Lara are secretly sneaking around. Her name flashed across my screen making my stomach drop, he did it again and I knew it.
20 minutes later a soft knock at my door, I knew it was her, I opened the door and she threw her arms around my neck. “Hello to you too,” mascara stains running down her face, “I’m sorry to show up in the middle of the night…” my arms still wrapped around her waist, I pulled her further into my apartment and shut the door. “babe what happened this time?” She pulled away slowly and walked towards the couch, “he got jealous again, swore up and down that I was cheating on him. He yelled, got into my face, said a lot of really shitty things.” My jaw tightened, “did he touch you?” She shook her head no, I sat down on the couch and pulled her close to me, “why can’t he be like you, soft, sweet, lovin-“ “because he is a fucking dick, you should leave his ass.” Dani sighed deeply, “I can’t… you know that.” I kissed the top of her head, and held her close, “well you are here now and I’ve got you.”
The tv was on for background noise, neither of us spoke after that, an hour later we decided to go lay in bed. Before we laid down, I’m too petty for my own good, we took a picture in my full-length mirror that I posted onto Snapchat.
“Do you ever wish you could run away from everything?” I smiled sadly, “yeah I do.. more than you’ll ever know.” We climbed into bed, but this time she let me lay on her chest, while she played with my hair. “Don’t fall asleep yet,” I smirked, “have anything fun in mind?” She started laughing, “ohhhh you wish.”
“I do.. I really do..” I whispered under my breath, “what was that?” She asked, while she scrolled on her phone, “errrr nothing I said we could watch another movie.” I suggested, “you are sooooo going to fall asleep.” It was the safest place for either of us to be. Dani held me, while she played with my hair and I drifted off to sleep.
I could feel that Daniela was awake, she was typing on her phone, I assume Jonah was jealous again. My eyes slowly opened as she sent a text to the group chat with the rest of katseye. “It’s too early for you to be texting like your life depends on it babe.” She chuckled lightly, “amor it’s almost noon,” “the key word is almost, and aren’t you off today?” I placed a small kiss on her cheek before sitting up, I stretched my arms out as much as I could, while she sat up in bed, “I am off but I have to get going, I promised manon that I would go shopping with her today” I nodded, “well that should be fun.” She grabbed her stuff and waved off as she left. When I heard the front door shut, it was like mourning someone you lost that was never yours.
