History:
Jonas Wolfe was the unfortunate product of a one night stand between Lou Wolfe and Vince Costello. The two had always shared a volatile relationship, and after that night Vince left to spend the next decade years on the road. His mother was never quite prepared to have kids, but took on the job of raising Jonas on her own. Working as much as she had to, to put a roof over their heads and food on the table. It’s because of Lou that Jonas grows up experiencing a relatively normal childhood filled with cartoons, summers spent swimming and lots of homework when he attends his first kindergarten class.
Fairly quickly Jonas learns exactly where he belongs within the social hierarchy of that little class. As the other kids boast proudly about their lawyer fathers and homemaker mothers. And the little boy cherish’s his mother all that much more for being his only family. Until one day Vince comes knocking on the front door to take Lou out for dinner. It doesn’t take long for the man to recognize the similarities staring back at him, and the quite family life Jonas grew up in quickly shattered. On one hand Jonas was ecstatic that his father had come home, and dreams of finally being a whole family filled his drawings at school. But Vince felt betrayed and confused, having never wanted children -let alone with a woman he couldn’t get get along with most of the time.
This complicated push-pull relationship continues through the end of elementary school when Lou passes away from cancer. Vince, who wants to be apart of Jonas’s life (unlike his own father), applies for custody and is granted legal guardianship, much to Jonas’s grandfathers chagrin. They move into Vince’s cabin on the outskirts of Charming. And the uncomfortable process of learning to live with each other after Lou’s death, begins.
Jonas’s grades suffer, as he struggles with the loss. But determined to make his mother proud the young boy pushes himself during his martial arts training. It’s during this time that he grows to resent Will, his younger half-brother, for still having a mother and being a social butterfly at school. When he finally enters high-school the young man decides to enlist in the Marines when he graduates.
He ends up serving 5 years in the Marines after graduating. And eventually honorably discharged after losing partial eyesight in his left eye due to an IED during his deployment in Afghanistan.
IN HIS CURRENT-TIMELINE: Life after the military is pretty quite for Jonas, buying a small condo close to his dad and opening an auto-body shop to keep his hands busy. He ends up hiring his younger brother, employing him to help Will recover from his drug-addiction. Aside from that, Jonas regularly visits Lou’s grave, takes care of Vince, keeps an eye on Will, and regularly volunteers as a Big Brother to underprivileged teens.
