Jonathan Corley leaves Manchester Orchestra
Well, if I wasn't sad enough when Jeremiah Edmond left Manchester Orchestra, this just continues the sadness as bassist Jonathan Corley has decided to call it quits from MO after 9 years in the band.
It wouldn't come as an easy decision for him i'd expect but i'm interested to see what the band plans to do with a replacement especially with a new album in the works and also the future of the Bad Books collaboration.
Here's a statement from the band:
Another time for change has come in the life of Manchester Orchestra. Our dear friend and bassist Jonathan Corley has made the decision to part ways with the band and pursue another career outside of playing music. This was a very obviously a very difficult decision but J is our eternal brother and we wish him the absolute best. There is no doubt that he will find success in any area he pursues. He will remain a part of the Manchester Orchestra family forever and there is no way we can thank him enough for the time he has spent with us over the last 9 years. Please see below for a message from J. MO After much thought and consideration, I've made the decision to end my career with Manchester Orchestra. The past nine years have been an incredible journey and this was absolutely one of the most difficult decisions I've made. I am very proud of what we accomplished together and cannot wait to see where the band goes from here. I'm grateful for the opportunities I've had to work and tour with a wide range of talented and supportive people and I will carry these experiences with me for the rest of my life. I would sincerely like to thank all of the fans, friends, family, and bands that have offered overwhelming support throughout the years. I am very excited to begin the next chapter of life. Thank you for the wonderful years and experiences. Jonathan Corley
