Beinart Gallery presents 'Antipodes 2020', a group art exhibition of new works in a variety of media by an array of highly skilled figurative artists working in Australia.
Beinart Gallery will be donating 5% of all sales in this exhibition to Seed: Australia’s first Indigenous youth climate network.
Opening reception is Saturday January 18 from 6-9pm (AUS ET) at Beinart Gallery, 1 Sparta Place, Brunswick, VIC, 3056, Australia.
The exhibition will be on view until February 2 2020.
The Art of Jonathan Guthmann
Jonathan Guthmann is an Australian artist born in 1980, currently based in Melbourne.
In being an artist, I am carrying on a tradition of painting, drawing and printing that extends multiple generations into my family history, to my knowledge at least four, in the upper parts of Bavaria, Germany. Because my art has conveyed so many different things at different times over the years, to describe the nature of my work as an artist is somewhat difficult. In one sense it is simply the visual aspect of my personal search for self-understanding, but it is also much more than that (...)
