Wyatt was tired. Between day shifts at the veterinary clinic and night shoots, plus three best friends who were all night owls, she wasn’t getting much sleep. At all. Sometimes she would shift and curl up under a tree or something, but now it was too hot for that, even in the shade or at night. It was too hot to do anything comfortably, whether she was human or something else. It was just too damn hot. Air condition didn’t completely remedy the problem, but it helped. Sometimes. It didn’t help the whole sleeping fiasco, but that was probably her own fault. That’s how she ended up putting her head down to rest her eyes for a second and falling into a deep slumber, right there on the kitchen counter. Nearly falling out of her chair when she heard a voice, Wyatt lifted her head and looked around the room, only to see her brother @@jonathan--drake. “I-” she started, but a yawn interrupted. “-wasn’t sleeping,” she lied as she pushed her hair out of her tired eyes.
