Prompt: It's winter, and that's Jongup's favorite season.
"Ah! Jongie, wait a second!" He used his best Daddy voice, causing the other man to stop and turn towards him with semi-wide eyes, like a scolded child. Taeil merely smile, closing the short distance between them and reaching up to fiddle with his baby's scarf. It was a forest green, which was what he knew was Jongup's favorite color, and he'd bought it for him just a few days prior when Taeil had heard that they were going to be getting several inches of snow in the next few days.
Pride welled within him when his baby stood still to let his Daddy fix him up, and Taeil pulled away from the scarf long enough to zip up his baby's coat fully. The shorter of the two pulled back a moment to scan over the taller, his lips in a small frown as he took in every detail to ensure the warmth of his baby. He made one final adjustment, making sure the flaps of Jongup's hat covered his ears and then Taeil pulled back--smiling and giving a gentle pat to the others' chest.
"Alright, baby. You can go play now." A bright grin came to the tallers' face and he was heading back towards the piles of snow that had been stacked in front of their home. Mounds of white chill rolled together and the perfect playground for someone such as Jongup, and it seemed as though he wasn't the only one who thought so--not with the way the younger of the two was dropping to his knees and starting to pack together snow.
Taeil stood to the side quietly, a small smile on his face as he watched the boy before him start to form a ball of snow, rolling it in circles on the ground to get a decent build up. The chill in the air wasn't as horrible as he was thinking it would be, at least not like the news had let on. He knew that night time would be worse, and he couldn't help but check his watch to see what time it was. Four in the afternoon--he wouldn't keep Jongup out here long. He'd let him play for an hour or so before ushering him inside for some warm soup and cocoa; the last thing he wanted was for his baby to get sick.
"Daddy!" Jongup's little voice called out and Taeil refocused on the present immediately. He turned his gaze to the green clad male and smiled, shoving his hands into his pockets and walking a little closer to the boy. He was on his knees still, a small frown on his face and his hands cupping a large ball of snow--the second tier to his snowman, probably.
"Yes, Jongie?" He inquired softly, and Jongup's pout grew more. Taeil forced back the laugh that he wanted to let escape, not wanting to encourage this kind of behavior in his baby but finding it nearly too cute to handle.
"Daddy, it's heavy. Can you help me?" Jongup asked, and when Taeil's brow rose, a flush came to his face. "Please?" He added quickly, and the shorter man smiled. He took the few short steps forward before bending down and scooping his hands under one half of the snow ball. Together, the two of them lifted it up and placed it on top of the larger one that Jongup had been rolling around previously. When they pulled back, Jongup was grinning and his nose was starting to get a pink tint from the chill. They would have to go in after building his snow man.
"Daddy, can you find some sticks for his hands, please? And maybe rocks for his smile and eyes?" Jongup shifted his weight from one foot to another, and Taeil chuckled, reaching up and patting the top of his hatted head with a nod.
"Of course, baby. Make up a ball for his head and I'll be back shortly." He had to stand on his tip-toes to press his chapped lips to the flushed cheek of his baby before he was pulling back, leaving Jongup blushing and rubbing his cheek affectionately.
Luckily, they had quite a few trees in their yard so it was easy enough to find decent sized sticks to use for the hands. Rocks, however, were another story. Taeil had to resort to digging through the snow near the driveway in order to find some of the loose rock gravel they had it lined with, coming victorious with a handful of dark stones.
By the time he made it back to his little boy, Jongup was placing a round sphere of white on the second section and turning to his Daddy with a beam on his face. "Look, Daddy! I did it!" Another wave of pride washed through Taeil and he was quick to place another kiss to Jongup's cheek.
"You did so good, baby. Daddy's proud of you." The way Jongup flushed was beautiful, just like the way he smiled and bit down on his bottom lip to try and contain it, shifting his gaze to the ground bashfully. Taeil's heart seemed to warm up, and he almost forgot it was winter. Smiling to himself, he quickly set about placing the rocks and twigs where they were needed before coming to stand beside Jongup. He felt something brush against his hand and when he glanced down, he saw Jongup's mittened hand wrap around his own gloved one.
"Can we name him Olaf, Daddy?" Jongup's voice was almost a whisper, and Taeil couldn't help but chuckle at the question. His baby had quite an obsession with the newest Disney film, and he was dragged to the theaters multiple times a week to see it. While the other members of their little family found it irritating, Taeil was pleased that his baby boy had found something decent to enjoy--not like those violent games that most kids were playing these days.
"Of course we can, Jongie." Taeil tugged on Jongup's hand and nodded his head towards their manor. "Let's go inside and get warmed up. If it's nice enough outside, we can build Olaf a friend tomorrow, alright?" A grin split across Jongup's face and he was quick to lean down and press his lips to Taeil's cheek.
"Okay, Daddy. You're the bestest." And now it was Taeil's turn to flush.
