Dani Rojas
To say Dani missed spending time with you is an understatement. There’s only so many tanks, helicopters and checkpoints she can destroy before she’s wishing to be back in your presence.
That’s why she doesn’t hesitate to call you, asking you to join her on collecting and returning the Triada relics to their place in Oluwa Cave.
The two of you spend an eerie night in Fort Oro, reading old lore and figuring out puzzles as you search for the relics. Of course, once mirrors start smashing Dani is quick to (heroically) grab your hand and squeeze it tight.
“Coño, just what the fuck is going on in this place— you’re not letting go of my hand, right?”
Dani definitely has her fair share of scares and spooks but when she grapples down the well, landing beside you with a soft ‘omft’ she knows she’s in good hands.
As long as you’re with her, its the best date she could ask for, especially when you reach out and kiss her cheek. It’s there she hopes the darkness of the cave hides her flush because she’s absolutely smitten with you in that moment.
Clara Garcia
Clara rarely gets a chance to get off her island, and if she does it’s almost always with a job to do. She’s absolutely beaming at the thought of not only getting to leave without responsibilities but she gets to spend the entire day with her favourite person.
Of course, that excitement drops when she finds you holding horses (graciously borrowed from the Montero Farm) and your knowing smile.
The absolute city girl that she is, Clara finds she has no idea how to ride or control the horse at all— but that only means she hitches a ride with you, her hands wrapped tightly around your waist and her chin perched on your shoulder.
“Now where is my favourite guerrilla taking me? Please tell me its somewhere relaxing… if such a place exists in Yara.”
You can’t help but feel proud at how happy Clara looks upon seeing the small picnic station around Lucero Lighthouse. With a careful dismount, you lead her over to the soft rug where you both share a bottle of rum and delicious snacks that you totally had to bribe Juan to smuggle in for the two of you.
On your way back, with Clara now sitting in front of you on the horse, you clumsily try to teach her how to steer. It doesn’t work very well but the two of you are laughing as you walk around in wobbly circles.
That’s why you’re totally unprepared for the way Clara turns in your arms, cradling your face gently as she plants a soft kiss to your lips as she whispers thank you for an amazing day.
Juan Cortez
For all that Juan loves in being a guerrilla, he has his days where he wants nothing more than to storm off from his workbench and forget about the stress of the revolution.
That’s why he jumped at the opportunity to spend a date with you, after you offered to help reset his stumped out creativity. Sneaking around Esperanza’s La Divinidad Cathedral searching for criptograma chests is just the sort of fun he needed.
The added exhilaration of sneaking past FND made it a thousand times more interesting as you zip lined over buildings and ducked through alley ways.
“I bet you a new supremo that I can find em before you— hey! No head starts that’s cheating cariño!!”
You affectionately lend him a hand for the more challenging grapples, not as agile as he once was in his glory days (and he tries to climb buildings with flip flops) but you let his ego flare up again by letting him collect the ‘Rum’ and ‘La Guitarra’ charts before you.
Of course, that doesn’t mean that as he climbs up a ledge you can’t surprise him by leaning down from you place on the roof to kiss him gently.
Camila ‘Espada’ Montero
It’s a well known fact that Camila takes on too much responsibly at camp, constantly working on training new recruits and planning to drive José into the ground. And you figured it’s finally time for her well deserved break.
The only way you could convince her to drop everything and come with you is by making it appear slightly ‘productive’ — so what better way than a hunting trip right?
The two of you made it all the way up to Aguas Lindas, searching for any unsuspecting mongeese or cougars when you stumbled upon the den of the Demoníaco.
“What you do say, should we get ourselves some infamous coyote pelts? I think a new hat would suit you.”
The two of you worked together, throwing all your fire power at the agile creatures until you finally got your prize. All the hard work was worth it when the two of you made it back to camp with triumphant looks on your faces.
Everyone was celebrating and giving you pats on your backs but none of that crossed your mind as Camila wrapped her arms around you and brought you into a bone crushing hug. Both of you held each other, breathing each other in as you littered sweet kisses to her shoulder and neck.
Carlos Montero
Carlos has built the Montero reputation on hard work and determination— the man priding himself on not taking time off from what mattered most to him.
That’s why he’s absolutely shocked you asked him on a fishing trip, but deep down under the stone, stubborn looks he was excited to relax and spend the day with you.
He’s got zero patience, grumbling as he fumbles with lures and fishing lines before he can even get it into the water and don’t get him started with waiting for the fish to actually bite.
“Are these pendejos de pescado sleeping? Next time I’ll stick with cocodrilos— how the hell did you catch one so fast?”
Carlos can’t believe his eyes when she sees you pull in catch after catch, convinced you’ve got fish hidden in your pockets somewhere. And he totally isn’t at all flustered when you share some of your tricks.
Around midday, the sun is glaring on your back and straining your eyes as it reflects off the crystal blue water. The two of you called it a day for fishing and are simply dangling your legs in the water in the boat.
Carlos takes his hat off at the sight of your discomfort and places it on your head. It’s too big for you, slipping over your eyes and as you lift it slowly you’re met with a gentle kiss and his nose bumping against yours.
Mercedes ‘Jonrón’ Martin
Jonrón has two passions. One— making Admiral Benítez’ life a living hell and two— spending time with you. If she’s not actively exploding tanks and stealing supplies from the FND, then she’s in your company (preferably partying or cuddling)
Being the total history nerd that she is, she jumps at the chance to spend the day with you exploring Yara and finding little pieces of history.
The two of you search through La Joya, jumping from abandoned Mills to Mckay’s pipelines as you stumble across all sorts of journalist notes, offical documents, ghost stories and even saucy diary pages.
“Oh! Oh! You’ve got to read this one! Look its from Lobo— ‘Lucky Mamá slapped me hard today. Hard. Chipped one of my fucking teeth.’ Hah Classic!”
Just being around Jonrón means her energy transfers over to you. You can’t help but smile and laugh along to all the stories she tells you and the way she reads different letters with all the dramatic flare she can muster.
Her head is resting in your lap, eyes trained to the pages she’s collected and flicking through all of them. It’s perfect for you to pull the papers down, revealing her face as you bend down to kiss her with a fond smile.
author's note: this was a request and hardly proofread! it has been years since i played softball, so excuse my incorrect terminology if there is any. also, jonrón gives shortstop vibes... but she also seems like she'd be a decent pitcher (that grenade throw scene)... so she is both here. hehe.
"fhakbdlsodnd okay so one would be more “modern”/no war in yara and jonrón is a professional softball player and you go to all her games to cheer her on and she calls you her good luck charm, things like that."
“just one more, porfa?” your girlfriend pleaded.
you sighed but obliged, placing a much-requested kiss directly on her lips. she smiled and pulled you in for a tight hug.
“jonrón, you’re going to do amazing.”
“yo sé. porque estás aquí,” she reminded you. “my good luck charm.”
you smiled and squeezed your girlfriend even tighter, wanting her to get the full effect of this boon she claimed you provided. you then placed another kiss upon her cheek for good measure.
“okay, okay…” you giggled as she tried to pull you in again. “i have to go.”
you blew jonrón a kiss and ventured on to go and find your spot in the bleachers. you wanted the perfect seat close enough to see her but far enough back to see her plays.
after you found the most adequate spot for your intentions, you sat down and scanned the stadium for the batting cage. from there, you saw your girlfriend swinging her bat and ensuring her stance was up to par.
after a few moments, the bleachers around you started to fill up. they weren’t as big as they may have been in the united states, but for yaran professional softball, they were good enough. as usual, you spotted many signs with your girlfriend’s name and number on them, which brought you joy. it was always nice to see how beloved she was and how much of an impact she’s made.
jonrón’s team was first to be on defense upon the start of the game, and she found her place between second and third base. she glanced around the field, then up to the bleachers, before finally spotting you. she waved to you and shot you the biggest smile, blowing a kiss to you afterward. you stood up to blow your girlfriend a kiss right back, to which she pretended to catch with her glove and place upon her heart. you always thought it was so adorable when she did that.
you eagerly watched the game as it progressed, keeping your sights on your girlfriend. in the first few innings, she prevented anyone from safely making it to third base. you were so proud of her, and so were her fans.
when it came to the top of the fifth inning, the coach switched it up and made jonrón pitch because she was becoming exhausted as the shortstop. you didn’t necessarily agree with the placement, but she was a damn good pitcher. you watched as she fought through exhaustion to get players out, which she was doing well at first. she managed to strike one player out in the fifth and sixth, which only seemed to fuel the crowd more.
the top of the seventh inning rolled around, and jonrón looked dreadful. she gathered some dirt on her hands and rubbed some on her pants, composing herself a bit before getting into her pitching stance. she met your eyes, and you immediately blew her a kiss, hoping to wash away any anxiety that she may have felt in that moment. the score was tied 3-3, and you knew the stakes were high.
jonrón readied herself and threw her pitch, which was deemed a ball. you heard as the crowd sighed, which lowered your mood, as you knew your girlfriend was trying her best. her next pitch was another ball, and then another. she took a moment to breathe before readying up again, this time having her ball make contact with the bat. the batter swung the ball, which went right over second base. the batter immediately dropped their bat to run to first and made it safely.
when the next batter came up, jonrón did a bit better. she only threw one ball, and her second pitch that was hit by the batter was caught by the left fielder. the first batter managed to make it safely to second base.
there were two more batters after that. the third batter was one that jonrón miraculously struck out, but the first batter made it to the third base. the fourth batter chose to bunt their ball, which almost caught jonrón off-guard. still, she managed to grab it and throw it to the catcher, causing the first batter to try and run back to third for safety. the catcher executed a fantastic play by throwing the ball to third base, who caught the ball before the runner returned to the base safely. those were the three outs that brought about the bottom of the seventh, with jonrón being placed near the end of the batting line.
with the game still tied and two strikes to the team with the bases loaded, it was jonrón’s turn to bat. the crowd stood on their feet to witness this play because if it were played right, jonrón and her team would walk away with the win. you knew your girlfriend was exhausted, but not once did you doubt her. she had one grand slam on her record, along with numerous rbis, so you knew she was capable.
it started off a bit rough, with jonrón swinging to what would have been a ball and getting a strike by missing what she could have hit. you felt the urge to hold your breath. it was a stressful moment for you to witness, and you were getting nervous for your girlfriend. she looked at you at that moment, and you blew her another kiss, forming your hands into a heart and reminding her that she had this. you saw her take one last deep breath. the world felt frozen for a bit, and then it was time for jonrón to give it her last shot.
she confidently returned to her stance and was ready for whatever came her way. when the pitcher threw the ball, jonrón almost swung but stopped herself. it was called a ball. the next pitch went hurling towards jonrón, and you knew it was now or never. she swung her bat and watched as the ball flew over the bases. upon the cue, she dropped her bat and ran towards first, noticing the other players moving up a base. the players just kept moving, and you realised that her ball was out of the park.
jonrón happily followed her teammates through the bases and safely made it to the home diamond, bumping the score up to 3-7. the crowd cheered for this victory, and you witnessed many adoring fans cheer for your softball player. you were proud of her and knew she’d be so proud of herself. not only did she get a home run, but she also got a grand slam, bringing home the victory for el este.
when the game wrapped up and the players concluded their meetings, jonrón rushed to find you. you were situated at the batting cage, ready to congratulate your girlfriend on her victory. when she entered the cage, you kissed her lips and pulled her in for the tightest hug.
“see,” she pulled away momentarily and smiled. “my good luck charm.”
fix-it fic concept (far cry 6 spoilers about jonrón):
sfw, but i still prefer no minors (curse words are involved)
cw: gn!reader, fix-it au, far cry 6 spoiler
you and jonrón have been seeing each other for awhile.
you scream for your girlfriend during the pg-240 airstrike at the grand hotel caballero. your heart is pounding out of your chest when she’s nowhere to be found. you would’ve ran back into the chaos if dani hadn’t dragged you away.
you try to get through to her on your phone — nada. a million questions run through your head: is she okay? did she make it? will i ever see her again?
when you don’t see her beside yelena at the rendezvous, a rush of emotions flood through you, mentally preparing you to hear the tragic news. she didn’t make it. you’ll never be able to tell her you loved her.
the sudden onslaught of intrusive thoughts are interrupted when someone grabs and spins you around. you were so relieved to find your dear girlfriend, jonrón, alive and well. you don’t even want to let go of her. never again.
character: Mercedes ‘Jonrón’ Martin | 838 words | Angst + Fluff |
summary: ya’ll thought sharing a bed would be fluff but we’re getting the angst train today >:) after the death of her brother gerardo, jonrón needs comfort and someone to hold her. of course, you’re more than willing to be there for her and do everything you can to comfort her. *warnings: its an angsty one*
notes: HALF WAY THERE! i genuinely didn’t think i’d make it past day one and yet here i am. also yes i missed a day (so there will be two today) but i didn’t have the energy to write this yesterday. i still don’t like how it turned out but hey we win some and lose some.
“Hey there, it’s just me.”
Jonrón made a disgruntled noise like she had just woken up, but you knew as well as anyone that she hadn’t slept in days. Her head rises from the pillows, eyes bloodshot and puffy from crying as she meets your eyes and collapses back into the pile of messy bedding.
You gently sit on the side of the bed, placing a bowl of warm vegetable soup down onto the bedside table for her to eat when she’s ready.
“Brought you something to eat, I made sure it’s all vegetables and vegan friendly,” Your failed attempt at humour doesn’t reach her, but you do get a small albeit weak smile when you gently run your fingers through her hair and tuck it back behind her ear. “Just wanna make sure you’re okay.”
In a matter of days everything had turned to shit.
What was supposed to be a reckless hit on a checkpoint quickly turned into a nightmare once Jonrón and Gerardo had gotten captured. Everyone was panicking and arguing about what to do– whether an attack or a bribe would work best, each with their own flaws to the plan.
In the end, Yelena had made the decision to free Jonrón, and whilst you would have done the same, it didn’t make the choice any easier.
You and Yelena had just returned from his failed rescue attempt that morning, and neither of you were going to walk away from it completely okay. Everyone felt a cocktail of emotions, equal parts exhaustion, guilt and anguish at losing one of La Morals finest and close friend.
Jonrón hadn’t left her room since returning to Concepción, refusing to see anyone as she grieved over the loss of her brother. The two of them had always been close, but fighting in la revolucion had only strengthened the trust and bond they had together. There was nothing anyone could say to make her grief any easier, but you loved her, and you would do what you could to make her as comfortable as possible.
Jonrón’s head resting into your fingers slightly brought you back to the present, brushing your hand over her ear to cradle the back of her head.
“I know it’s hard… fuck– i’m sorry I couldn’t save him,” Your throat dries, voice tense as you speak over the heavy feeling in the room. “But I can be here for you now.”
Gently, you bring the sheet to wrap over her shoulder, making sure she stays warm before you bend down and kiss her forehead. “Just call out if you need more food or anything else, yeah? You don’t have to go through this alone.”
Figuring she wants to be left alone, you stand from your place beside her bed and go to leave the room. Jonrón moves so quickly it startles you, her hand grabbing your wrist with shaky unease.
“Please stay…” Her voice is weak, a tremor throughout it to match the tears which gather in her eyes. They spill over her cheeks and your heart breaks at the sight. Carefully, as not to startle her or make her uncomfortable, you slide into bed beside Jonrón and hold her.
Your arms wrap around her chest, holding her against your own chest as she softly cries into your hands. All you can do is squeeze her reassuringly, your thumbs brushing over her skin as you feel helpless to comfort her. Jonrón’s shoulders shake, sobs leaving trembles to run throughout her body and you kiss her shoulder softly to steady her.
“I’ve got you, it's okay.” You repeat comforting words, letting her know you’re there with her and that she’s not alone. She loops her fingers with yours, holding onto you like she’s terrified of being alone right now.
“Fuck I miss him.” Jonrón’s voice is so soft and meek, unlike how she usually is around camp. Along with her brother, they were the life of La Moral, keeping all the serious and brooding guerrilla’s like you and Yelena relaxed. She always had a way of reminding you to breathe, to relax and spend time with your family between all the fighting. Jonrón didn’t even know it, but her smiles and jokes kept you stable and held together between all the chaos of la revolucion.
She cries herself out, eventually falling into a light sleep sometime in the early morning. The whole night you hold her, making sure she’s comfortable and safe in your arms.
Each night she asks you to stay with her, and each time you oblige. You slowly help her sleep better, help with food and finally help her walk around Concepcion with your hand in yours.
Eventually, there reaches a point where she doesn’t ask you to stay the night, she doesn’t have to, as you both snuggle up together under the blankets. The physical touch grounds both of you, and you’d never skip the opportunity to protect and hold her throughout the night.
okay i have no idea what’s up w tumblr word limit but i can post headcannon’s on my own text just not in response to an anon which sucks so bad :((
but if this was a normal anon ask I would simply say - JONRON IS SO UNDER APPRECIATED AND SHE DESERVES MORE LOVE!! i’m incredibly over worked but i could not wait two weeks for my finals to be over and i took the whole day off to write two works today. pls enjoy these (rushed and unedited) hc’s <3
When you first met Jonrón it was during a summer trip. Your parents had dragged you out of bed and you all drove down to the Museum of the False Revolution.
Of course, back in the days where you were younger it was still a tribute museum to the Legends. Now it only stood to show Castillo’s side of history.
You weren’t all that excited about going to a museum so early in the morning on your holiday of all things but that all changed once you got there.
Jonrón was working at her summer job with her parents and whilst your own stopped to talk to hers at the front desk, the two of you went running around the museum together.
She showed you all her favourite exhibits, telling you all about Lorenzo, Lucky Mama and El Tigre— three names who were Legends and heroes to the two of you.
You spent the afternoon playing an imaginary game of tag with each other. Both of you taking turns to chase the Castillo’s and promising to be as mighty as the Legends one day.
Ever since then Jonrón and you have been joined at the hip. She was your best friend long before she was your girlfriend and you can’t imagine your life without her.
She’s the biggest history nerd so a lot of your dates are spent travelling around El Este (and sometimes other places in Yara) to visit all her favourite historical sites.
Some of your favourite times together have been exploring the caves in and around Conuco.
You two visited the Ominosa, Apito-Bara, and Turey caves all in one day where you collected all sorts of glowing skulls and Triada relics.
Both you and Jonrón have a dream of restoring the museum to honour the legends once more and you will have a special wing of it dedicated to the myths that surround the island.
Obviously you go on double dates with Yelena and Geraldo because why wouldn’t you??
The four of you go to all your favourite cafes and restaurants in Concepción, where Jonrón and Geraldo bicker like siblings they are.
The food is always amazing and afterwards you take her hand in yours as all four of you go to sit on the rooftops and watch the boats on Concepción bay.
The two of you have a small house on La Reina island just outside of Concepción, and besides from having endless parties with everyone from La Moral— it’s your mini paradise together.
Whenever you can have a break from fighting constantly, you always grab food from the small market in town before taking the boat back to the hidden island.
The two of you make tasty meals, mostly from your little garden that you share but there are times where you go fishing or hunting too.
You love that Jonrón is vegan (and that she’s nice about it too!!) and you always try to spruce up dinners with new recipes instead of plain salads.
The two of you love spending time together and you both eat dinner on the shores, sharing a beer and laughing until the sun has gone down and its time to crash for the night.
She’s an absolute fan of affection, in public and private— and her favourite by far is her bear hugs.
After each mission, which is done with you by her side almost every time, Jonrón pulls you into her arms for a bone crushing bear hug because she is pumped on adrenaline and she loves you (as if you didn’t already know that by now)
The two of you make the best team, and despite all her super-fans who are willing to jump head first into battle at the sound of “knuckleball”, both of you know that its you who is her number one.
The two of you just cannot be separated and after all these years someone would think you’d be sick of each other but it’s only brought you closer.
When her brother died and Yelena had to choose between the siblings, it was you who was there to help Jonrón get through it.
You brought her warm, homemade foods and lots of different tea’s that you know would help soothe her despite the utter pain she was in.
There was never any hesitance as you helped her sit up in bed after she had cried for hours and you held her against your chest.
You’d spend hours just rocking her, making sure she had a blanket around her shoulders and lots of forehead kisses as you comforted her.
It took a long time, but it was you who finally helped her return to La Moral and to keep fighting in memory of her brother.
Her spark seemed to come back after the two of you teamed up with Dani to meet the legends. Being the history nerd that she is, Jonrón was over joyed at meeting her heroes, the same as you.
Naturally, you had to work hard to get the grump old legends to like you both, but after some badass missions (and maybe some slight grovelling for autographs) you and Jonrón ended up becoming besties with Lorenzo, El Tigre and Lucky Mama.
