Hey! In your absolute honest opinion, how do you think the GA and just fans in general take GoT if D&D didn’t chicken out and actually went in the direction that was obviously meant to go. After Jon killed Daenerys and tried to redeem himself for the damage that she caused to everyone. Westeros actually finds out about his heritage but he turns down the crown of the 7K for the North, proclaims his true love for Sansa and the show ends with both of them crowned?
I do think there would be some backlash from stans simply because Jonsa has been regarded by certain fans as a crack ship. Most Jonsa shippers have been called delusional by other “factions” of the fandom, and the reveal would force these people to eat their words.
That being said, I think the Jonsa ending would have been fairly well received by the GA. It makes sense for this story and its themes. Several group reactions I’ve watched have discussed the possibility of Jon and Sansa being romantically involved. I enjoy group reactions because it gives you a better idea of what the GA thinks—not everyone in a large group will agree, but discussion typically leads to some good ideas being thrown around.
Many, many members of the GA have picked up on both the Jonsa vibes and the logic of a union between the two. I’ve even seen reactors who are DT stans admit that a marriage between Jon and Sansa would make the most political sense.
All in all I feel that, if handled properly, Jon proclaiming his love for Sansa would be a lightbulb moment. Not only are they a power couple who have learned to rely on one another, but their entire journeys as characters shadow each other from the moment they’re introduced. They personify the validation the other needs—that’s portrayed pretty clearly in the show up until, and even in, the final season.

Jon and Sansa could have confessed their feelings in this scene and it would have made sense. From a purely intellectual point of view, this moment comes off as romantic. Every good scene begins with a broad problem and narrows down until it reaches its true quandary. Their respective questions at the end are:
(Jon) Do you trust me?
(Sansa) Do you love her?
Jon needs Sansa’s trust. Sansa needs Jon’s love. That is the purpose of this scene.
Inexplicably, Sansa never gets the answer to her question. Imagine if, instead of cutting the scene here, Jon had kissed her. There would be gasps...but it would make sense.
