Heart killer Initial Reaction Ep 1

I haven’t posted a reaction since the trainee aka lesbians are craft assholes and 10 mins of offgun but I’m back baby!!! Ready for some Thai BL let’s go

So haven’t looked up anything about the show ahead of time no background stuff. Heartkiller looks like Jojo has a decent budget. Sound track is bopping. I am a little nervous about the intelligence level of the characters but maybe that will be revealed later. All in all was an exciting ep.

Taming of the shrew???? More like training of the brat. It’s first’s pingeon hold role in The Eclipse, Only Friends, and HeartKiller anyways.

Okay surprise relatable fave in Style he’s a mechanic taking over his dad’s business. I enjoy his manic “I spend too much time with myself attitude”

Okay so Fadel needs to reevaluate things because idk why he feels like he owes Bison something but… bison is like a newborn dumbass… I’m not really digging it TBH. I’m hoping maybe it’s a… act but he just seems to be a whiny little brain empty human with a magnet dick.

I hope so because good lord bison is dumb.

But awwwwwww how cute!!!!!!! Side note styling on both Kant and Bison is very sexy I guess!!! I don’t love First’s fake tattoos but maybe it’s just me so don’t worry. I hope that Kant’s character will be a smarter version of Porsche. Big brother being forced into fucking someone to protect the little bro.

I probably will get shot being near him. Is how I’m interrupting this. ALSO KANT?! You sending your bro in there blind? Sending him to flirt with A KNOWN DEADLY MAN?! I was hoping Kant could be smart but nope… or maybe he doesn’t care????

I really thought Fadel was getting Style drunk so that he could stab him to death easier being thrown out is a good thing really. Fadel seems to be too smart for the other characters. However he’s tied to Bison so I can’t see this going well.

Anyways I’m excited to see where we go next!!!!

Episode 1 Analysis: The Heart Killers Plot's Wrongs & Rights

This is a section where I would like to take special care of the structure of the story, characters, conflicts and dynamics, with the fair objective of analyzing the strong and weak points of a plot.

The Brothers: hitmen

The first episode opens with Bison being chosen by a older man as an scort. Bison entertains the man while he waits for his brother to come and complete the job. First conclusions are:

• Bison doesn't seem to be terrified of the older man insinuations.

• Bison seems to not be extremely bothered by his job.

• Bison doesn't seem to be traumatized by killing people at all.

When his brother arrives, they finish the job quickly and not thinking much.

Before they leave, Bison mentions he wants to go out. These are the possible conclusions:

• Bison is reckless and not really conscious of the damage he's making to himself and the world for killing people.

• OR Bison wants to keep his mind completely out of the tragedy that is his life.

I think, the first option is definitely the right one because Bison doesn't show any signs of being negatively affected by killing people. And yes, I know it's just a show, that doesn't mean it can't be a little bit more realistic: you have to be in a certain state of mind to kill someone, it's not a walk in the park. Not having any reaction isn't normal for a person who is in the right state of mind.

×This could be a problem because GMMTV has a long list of shows with similar contexts where they just use this type of life as an aesthetic which is a HUGE MISTAKE if you want your show to be serious. But, let's give it the benefit of the doubt.

In opposition to his brother, Fadel is not happy at all with his lifestyle. He seems to feel tired and stuck in this work. How do we know?

• He seems affected. He doesn't want to go out after killing someone, he wants to finish the day quickly. He doesn't trust people easily.

This character so far, makes so much more sense to this lifestyle. He doesn't trust people, he isn't happy, and he isn't open to other people. He lives his life in complete loneliness just with his brother, and still tries to keep his brother alone as well. There's signs of damage in his personality and life, it affected his behavior and his way to see his future.

The way he meets Style is very realistic, the way he acts too. Not only because he isn't very talkative but also because he was hiding a body on his damn car.

The reason why he sees Style again makes a lot of sense too because he literally doesn't have anyone else to go to if he wants to fix his car in discretion. Style is the one who crashed his car and it's kind of reasonable that he asks for a favor, to fix his car with any documentation and without any questions.

Style had all the rights to be a little bit playful because he is fixing an undocumented car for free. Also, it's very realistic that he thinks Fadel is attractive. I don't think Style thinks the man he's meeting is a hitman. He could be just a bad boy, after all, he's friends with Kant which used to steal cars. He's not scared of that.

When they meet for a third time is now to start with the plan Kant asked Style to do. I like how Fadel stayed in character, not falling for this boy and actually only getting the beers because he doesn't know if this man is there just to sue him for his undocumented car, or because he found anything suspicious on his car. But when he understood is not dangerous, he just takes him out of the restaurant.

This couple seems to be taking the path of a slow burn romance which makes sense for them. They might have sex quickly but the feelings and the trust seem to be far away so far.

✓ This could be a very right path to build a character in a good way. Staying in character, following the character mind's logics and not creating rushed development, if it doesn't fit the right time to the characters.

A Boss and a Babe - I like ForceBook as a pair and I love cheesy office romances, this is right up my ally 

Cooking Crush - Puppy Honey is my fav OffGun and this looks similarly light. I’m game, and happy to see them re-up and take the crown of longest running pair back, long live the kings! 

Last Twilight - Jimmy nation + adult angst, yes please 

23.5 - I am looking forward to a GMMTV GL and this is a solid pair 

Cherry Magic remake - I actually like a remake, it’s fun to see a different country’s stamp on an IP (see Love Stage!!!) but I think, ultimately, Japan’s original will be better in this instance 

Hidden Agenda - I’m kinda boarded by the very idea 

Dangerous Romance - not a fan of dark stuff especially when Thailand does it

Only Friends - also not a fan of messy gays 

Our Skyy 2 - really not a fan of 2nd seasons

Okay, ABL, here's one l haven't seen tackled: role reversal ! I'm watching Moonlight Chicken, and l'm thinking, "Could l see this with the actors switching characters ?"

Gemini is taller, square face, intelligent and thoughtful nature--but a domineering physical presence. His opposite is more cherubic, elfin even ? I mean, these are just physical characteristics, and l love them as they are ... but l really could see it the other way around, too.

How many pairs out there might you say that about, for any given script ?

The fact the GMMTV is shy of this kind of thing is GMMTV's problem and a y-novel adaptation issue, not the actors. I mean they let Ohm & Nanon, First & Khao, and a few others pay with the dynamic, they can keep doing it if they really want to.

Lmao! What? About Dunk’s acting not being on level with Joong’s? I don’t think it really needs to be a controversial thing, you can like a person or actor or singer, etc, and still think that they need to improve in their art.

Some people come with natural talent, some spend years studying it and some just muddle through and get better as they go on. Learning, growing and changing within your chosen art form is nothing to be ashamed of or mocked for.

I spent my entire school career in art schools, over a decade of my life was spent on acting and singing and performing. And you know what? I can fully fucking admit, romance was not my strong suit. Intimacy workshops were my downfall, I was terrible at them! I wasn’t suited for those types of roles, I was the antagonist, the villain, the comic relief, the sarcastic sidekick. If the company was putting on a romance that theatre season, I bloody well knew not to go out for a lead role because it was not my strength.

Does that mean I would’ve stayed terrible at romance forever? No, probably not. But I left theatre before I ever got a chance to find out, I stopped working at it. I truly think that just because someone isn’t as good as a performer as their scene partner, they shouldn’t be benched, they just need a little extra time and work.

True, it’s not always fair to their scene parter. Trust me, trying to drag someone up who’s pulling a scene down can be exhausting, but thankfully Dunk is working in television, so he has the ability to take breaks and do reshoots, plus all scenes go through post-production editing and touch ups.

He really does have the ability to be great and has been great time and time again in THK, I just don’t think he’s managed to tap into the emotional well that his costars have. But I’m sure he will, he’s still young and is clearly talented or he wouldn’t be getting the roles he is.

Being emotionally vulnerable on cue isn’t an easy thing nor a comfortable thing, it can be awkward and draining and hard to leave behind at work at the end of the day, which is scary. You don’t wanna bring whatever pain or discomfort your character is feeling home with you, that’s the quickest way to burn out. So perhaps Dunk is just wary, which is fair. Again, I think he has a lot of potential to grow as an artist. I quite enjoy him as the silly goofy comic relief, and I’ll continue to watch his work going forward after THK ends 👍👍
