hello, lovelies!! i’ve been meaning to write up a post about this for a while so here is my extensive skincare / makeup routine + recommendations and tips! i will warn you though, this is a pretty long post so grab a cup of tea and enjoy!
skin care:
in my opinion skin care is the most important!! if you take care of your skin, it will break out less + just be healthier in general!! if you are going to spend money on either makeup or skincare i highly recommend you choose skincare! my morning and night routines are nearly identical but i’m going to write them both out!
morning:
wash face with: neutrogena: deep clean gel cleanser (for combination or oily skin)
tone with: bioderma: sensibo sensiitive skin micelle solution
moisturize with: bioderma: sensibio ar moisturizer
eye cream: neutrogena: ultra-light eye cream (it goes by a different name here but it’s the same!)
night:
remove makeup with: estēe lauder: take it away makeup remover lotion
wash face with: neutrogena: deep clean gel cleanser (for combination or oily skin)
tone with: bioderma: sensibo sensiitive skin micelle solution
moisturize with: bioderma: sensibio ar moisturizer
eye cream: neutrogena: ultra-light eye cream

fresh: black tea instant perfecting mask
homemade mask: mix an egg white and about 1 tbsp of honey (leave on until dry and wash off!)
fresh: black tea age-delay firming serum
makeup:
i do tend to splurge more on makeup because, in my opinion, it looks better (on me personally) but after i give you guys my routine i will be including other options!

makeup recommendations:
face:
foundation:
estēe lauder: double wear (a pricy but very full coverage matte foundation)
givenchy: photo’perfexion fluid foundation (an amazing lightweight foundation with spf 20)
revlon: colorstay makeup for combo/oily skin (this used to be my absolute favorite)
clinique: stay-matte oil-free makeup (this was too matte for my dry-combo skin, but would be a person with oily skin’s dream!)
concealer:
maybelline: instant age rewind eraser dark circle treatment concealer (so good omg i need to repurchase!!)
l’oréal: true match super blendable concealer
make up for ever: full cover concealer (such amazing coverage!!)
bronzer:
nyc smooth skin bronzing powder: sunny (i used to love this bronzer and it’s less than 4 dollars!)
highlight:
clinique: chubby stick sculpting highlight (i used to use this religiously)
blush:
elf blushes (great pigment and super inexpensive)
nars: blush in goulue (one of my favorites, it is a bit pricy!)
eyes:
eyeshadow:
(finding inexpensive good quality eyeshadows is really tough so this is one area i might spend a little more money!)
marc jacobs: style eye-con no. 7- the lolita 206 (i got this as a gift and it’s honestly the best palette i own!)
urban decay: naked2 palette (cooler tone shades)
urban decay: naked3 palette (warmer tone shades- i prefer this one on my skin tone)
mascara:
(this is an area you definitely don’t need to splurge on because there are so many great drugstore mascaras)
l’oréal: voluminous carbon black volume building mascara (the first mascara i ever bought, packs some serious punch for the price tag)
covergirl: lashblast volume mascara
benefit cosmetics: they’re real! lengthening & volumizing mascara (this mascara is insanely good as long as you are okay with paying more)
make up for ever: smoky extravagant mascara (this mascara gives crazy volume!)
eyebrows:
(again this is an area where i haven’t found a good drugstore alternative!)
anastasia beverly hills: dipbrow pomade (highly pigmented!)
benefit cosmetics: 24-hr brow setter shaping & setting gel (this is a clear gel and locks your brows in place all day)
lips:
(this is an area where i’m just going to recommend brands because everyone prefers different colors and tones!)
mac lipsticks (a little on the pricey side but amazing and long lasting)
chanel: rouge coco lipsticks (the price on these is insane but i can’t deny the beautiful sheen and hydration these give)
money saving tips:
usually, online stores offer some sort of “first-time shopper” code ranging from 10-20% off! (i just continue to make new profiles each time to benefit from this)
sales!! this is an obvious one but sales are happening all the time so sometimes it’s best to wait!!
use people's referral codes! these usually give you from 15-20% off and are super great! (here’s my glossier one!)
join programs like sephora’s “beauty insider program”– you might not save money off the bat but you can get some awesome freebies!
look for coupons or offers online!! the internet is your friend– use it!
that’s pretty much it! i just wrote an essay worth of recommendations and tips and i hope they help you lots! makeup isn’t an essential or necessary friend but it can be fun to play with! i decided not to do skin care recommendations because that’s a whole other post full (but if you guys would like it just tell me!) i spent ages finding the links and going through all my products to find my favorites! no go out and have fun with makeup!!
disclaimer: i am not sponsored by any of the brand mentioned and i get no commission off of any of the links provided (in exception of the glossier links). all opinions are my own and 100% true!
