chanyeol sinks into the armchair in the corner of the hotel room when they arrive. a few lights seep through the thin day curtains that are drawn shut, the night curtains still pulled over to the side. he's never been good with long haul travels and after the short plane ride from seoul to jeju, there was another bus ride from the airport to their lodgings (because chanyeol is economical, no matter how much joonmyun is prone to spending the money they don't have).

there's the sound of joonmyun pottering about in the bathroom with a toiletries bag they'd packed together. toothbrushes, face washes, lotions, shavers, one or two disposable face masks chanyeol had counted into their finances so that joonmyun could indulge in them. the clinking of bottles means joonmyun is cleansing and moisturising his face. he's skipping a shower for the night then. chanyeol could do with skipping washing up. more rustling, joonmyun blowing his nose into a tissue because he's particular about his boogers and then his slender, petite boyfriend emerging from the shower fresher and dressed in pyjamas.

"there's only one bed and i know hotels don't change the sheets until you dirty them like crazy, so you're washing up," the older male insists as he ambles over with hotel slippered feet; chanyeol finds himself dragged to his feet even though he towers over joonmyun with a good few inches. joonmyun's hands through his sweater are warm, they always are. joonmyun is most prone to feeling cold during autumn and winter, sometimes spring too, but his body is always a comforting heat against chanyeol's naturally cooler body.

he half-asses his before bedtime routine and plops into bed with a pair of drawstring shorts that joonmyun had scrounged up for him from their luggages.

"your feet are freezing, let me get—" chanyeol shakes his head and twines his feet around joonmyun's calves instead. his toes thaw out and he hums under his breath, his mind running through their schedule tomorrow. they've been booked for a freelance project and tomorrow will be a long day spent scouting locations, preparing plenty of things in the two to three days before the idols come in and filming commences. "what time do we get up tomorrow, chanyeol?"

"around 6am, so we can get to the first location by 7am with some breakfast in our stomachs," he affirms as he burrows his face into joonmyun's side. arms shift around him to reach for a cellphone, alarm set, before they wrap around his shoulders and snuggle him closer. "hyung," he sighs into the floral smelling pyjama shirt that joonmyun has on. the cheapest fabric softeners tend to smell like unicorns shat in them. he's come to associate the smell with his older boyfriend, who has learnt to forego expensive colognes.

"goodnight, chanyeol," joonmyun mumbles affectionately; he feels chapped lips on his forehead and makes a mental note to load up on more complimentary water bottles from the hotel for his boyfriend. joonmyun gets absorbed in things when he's working, especially when he's directing a new video, so chanyeol has to be careful to take care of him because he'll forget to take care of himself.

"goodnight, hyung," chanyeol traces the curves of jaws and tugs a pair of soft lips to his own, nibbling gently on the lower one. he falls asleep that way, tangled up in all his favourite things.
