Nearing the intersection of where 2017 meets 2018, I feel very humbled. Humbled by a year that has been one of struggle, one of obstacles on both a professional and personal level. At 26 years old I can say that has been my most challenging year to date. It could have been so easy to succumb to the nay sayers. The illusions of inferiority, or to simply drown in the tides of massive change. In my home country, USA, people with my skin tone are marginalized. Black boys and black men who, regardless of their education, aptitutes and accomplishments, are treated as second hand citizens. It plays out in our daily lives, from the media we consume, to the products that consume us. From police brutality, to blatant prejudice. My words of encouragement for YOU, regardless of your skin color, nationality, spiritual beliefs, is to just do it. Believe in the power of your dreams and the power of the unique purpose you were placed on Earth to accomplish. Meeting her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was a royal dream and it's an absolute honor to sit on the advisory board with my #BradfordSwain business partner @adambradfordofficial for The Queens Commonwealth Trust. Stepping into the legendary Buckingham Palace twice in one week. Meeting Prince Harry, and a host of other international movers and shakers. Me, a mixed race young man from a mother who immigrated to the US from the Bahamas and a father of Southern roots, not so many generations removed from being enslaved. Let this photo be a testament to the power of believing. The power of creating whatever it is you can envision, and the beauty of going after those dreams with everything you've got! I am a social entrepreneur. I am an artist. I am #JordanAnthonySwain. 2018 for me is going to be a year of unlearning, relearning and fully harnessing my own voice, story and platform while inspiring others to do the same. Heavenly Father, thank you. Thank you in advance for all the abundance and blessings you bestow. Thank you for the lessons learned, even in my naivety while going through them. Even during my lack of vision when you have grander plans that I cannot see. Thank you for the temporary failures. Every minute of every hour demanding energy draining power Bullshit hits And smears it's FUNKADELIC funky ass fragrance of dissatisfaction requiring no action yet massive action to attack My dignity. My serenity. My equality. Peace and liberation. Mental castration. Lesser vibrations ALWAYS ruin the equation. Equally pressing is the beast Who wears his share of bullshit And calls it style. Being a business owner/ #entrepreneur is just like having a child. You won't ever truly know what it's like until you have one. I've been working my ass off, many late night and early morning.. it's become a way of life that most won't ever comprehend. The world travel, the cultural immersion, solving problems on a global scale. The world is open and ready to help you create your highest visions. You just have to act and not play the victim.
