Jorgi headcannons
I have a hc that he is somewhat, far related to the Inspector's wife. Like a “My great-grandmother had 3 kids, but 2 of them went to live aboard and had their own families there. But here only our grandma remembers them, but doesn't keep in contact much.”
That's why he mostly only goes for the checkpoint in Grestin, even if he'd have an easier way through the Obristan-Aristocka border.
Though, he would never tell the Inspector about the family connection.
Many bad things happened to him that led him to take drastic measures, to get money to live. His age, health and education don't make it easy to get a job. So he did many small, less than legal things, to keep himself and his wife afloat. It led him to bigger buyers, his charisma and personality allowed him to charm his way through and make decent connections.
It's way easier to get into Kolechia, than any other country. People there pay decently and there is always a demand. It's just that it's always dangerous to go and sell there. Jorgi got mugged a few times and got beat up pretty badly.
So when an opportunity to sell in Arstotzka presented itself, he eagerly accepted.
He remembered, some relatives talking about their familial connections in Arstotzka and he managed to hear around that one of his relatives worked at the border. So he chose Grestin as his crossing point.
Reason, why he won't mention his familial connection to the Inspector is that he doesn't want to burden him more than he already does, making his job harder. He always has a soft spot for his family and all its members. He is very aware of the situation the Inspector is in, so he just comes around and takes what he can get.
That's also why even if the Inspector rejects him every time, he is willing to help him out and provide a way to Obristan. If that ending happens, Inspector's family really does go to meet with his distant relatives. He goes there to get help with relocating to a new country. It's also by this, how he learns of his relation to Jorgi.
Jorgi hides his drug business from his wife, not wanting to worry her too. He makes up stories about helping around transporting supplies and that is why he is out of the country so much. She has her suspicions, but she has to let it slide, knowing that it might be the only way.
His soft spot for family is also the reason why he befriended Calensk so quickly. At first Calensk let him go off easily, but then his wife got worse and Jorgi had to at least pay up. Jorgi understood.
At one point Calensk wasn't the one apprehending Jorgi, so he had to full on prison escape, bribing guards and finding weird ways to sneak through, out of the arrest. That's why he got his face on a criminal bulletin that one time.
Not much of classic hcs, just his backstory in my head for now

Jorgi headcannons pt3:
He loves his wife a ton. a wife guy you might say. He may be up for a lil teasing, but he would never intentionally hurt her. He would feel incomplete, if she was gone
Before the whole drug dealing job, he was happy that he managed to settle down. It was his dream to have a little cabin, with a garden to grow vegetables. He used to spend a lot of his free time working in the garden.
He would grow flowers, in harder to reach areas, in secret from his wife, just to whip them out as a present for her later.
Terrible cook, I'm sorry. He relies on his wife for food. When he goes out on his ‘work trips’, he usually only eats sandwiches he packed for himself.
He met his wife when she worked in a diner or a bar. He was a very flirty young man, though in a bit of a cringe way. To the point that his future wife just quipped back at him with ease, but they both enjoyed their banters so much.
It took them 3 or 4 years of dating for him to propose. He didn't have enough money to buy a new ring, so he proposed with his grandma's proposal ring.
He might have been the one to propose, but she was the one who scooped him into their first date. When he realized what's going on he turned red as a tomato. He treasures this memory and often fondly talks about it.
He may be a fun/weird uncle type. But he can be a real shoulder to cry on. He may not be the best at comforting people, but he will let you lean on him and talk your emotions out. He will wrap his arm around you and say little things, to try to cheer you up. He is just not the best at emotions, he prefers to act and actively fix things. But he learned that sometimes the best thing he can do is listen.
He is overall a very touchy feely kinda guy. Not in a creepy way, more of a hug for a hello, hand on the shoulder of his buddy as they talk, kind.
He loves tackling his family members into bear hugs.
Isn't a jealous type at all, very chill. Even when he was younger. He didn't mind his girlfriend bantering with other guys at work, he trusted her completely. Though if he felt like she was uncomfortable, he would subtly step in to help.
Mornings with him are like - he either is there, making a coffee for him and his wife, being cuddly and warm. Or his wife wakes up to him just not being there, out on another ‘job trip’. He hates to leave her like that, to find out in the morning, but he also never has the heart to see her trying to stop him.
A fairly social guy. Still goes to the same bar as when he was young. Though he doesn't drink as much. He likes to play billiards, and is fairly decent at it. Also sometimes plays darts, very bad at it.
He seems like a fairly open guy, who shares everything, like he got nothing to hide and shares too much. But that's a facade and he knows well how to keep secrets. His wife and really good friends can tell though, but he never lets them confront him about anything.
A bit of a tossup, if he remembers about their wedding anniversary. He either has everything nicely planned out or he completely forgets. But he never dismisses it and if he does forget, he tries his best to make up for it.
He has a bad habit of biting his nails.
He can fall asleep anywhere. It helps him on his trips on board. He had fallen asleep on the back of the truck, a random stack of hay, under the Inspector's booth…
There isn't much that can turn him off away from a person. He dealt with deception, cocky assholes and much more. He is not a doormat, but he forgives easily.
One thing he absolutely hates is abusing children or animals. No respect or forgiveness for those.
Jorji hc pt2:
He is great with kids. A fun uncle/grandpa who would allow you to do things your parents wouldn't allow.
Wouldn't sell drugs to kids. Especially from his family. He overall doesn't really like selling drugs and feels bad for those with addiction. Tries to avoid selling to heavy drug rings. Mostly sells to single buyers.
He kinda gets along with everybody. Befriends a lot of people in a matter of a few minutes. Helps him build reputation and gain allies quickly.
Likes to wear sweaters. Most of the ones he wears were made by his grandmother. He keeps them all, through tears and dirt. Most of them are very used up, but he can't let go of the sentiment.
If Inspector goes for the escape to Obristan ending and rebuilds his life there, he will often leave his kids with Jorgi for him to look after them when he can't. Jorgi will try to make excuses, but in reality he loves spending time with them and the kids are happy they have a new uncle to play with.
He and his wife have a little garden by their home. Obristan doesn't really produce the best conditions for farming, but they try to make it work during the season. Tomatoes, radishes and beans work best.
They collect rainwater in buckets and other containers to use. Most of the time its to water the plants. Sometimes it's to wash stuff in. Sometimes its to wash themselves when water pipes stop working.
They used to have a guard dog and some chickens and ducks. Sadly the different circumstances caused them to slowly lose all of them.
Nowadays a ton of cats come around. They don't mind them, as they are enough to scare of all the birds that would pluck out the seeds of their crops.
If Jorgi has a good streak, he will share some meat scraps with the cats. But he usually just pets them.
Jorgi gets around his town on his old bike. He doesn't take it when he goes out for business as he would hate to lose it or for it to get stolen.
He likes summer the most. Stuff usually goes well in summer. Crops grow nicely. Cats are sunbathing. He usually doesn't leave the country for business. It's warm. And the life is flourishing in the forests.
He loves going to forests for mushroom picking. He is really good at it too. Knows most of the good spots and all the local kinds of mushrooms.
