Hello again ExFor nation
I’m well into the first book of Expeditionary Force: Columbus Day, and I absolutely love stupid ass himbo Bishop and Skippy.
“But you’re not that smart, I mean, your species is responsible for Windows Vista.” “Vist- that was a long time ago!” “It’s still an insult to computers across the galaxy.”
“I was surprised that peacekeeping involved killing so many people, but it is what it is.”
WHO HE IS…
like mordred from camelot, you were poisoned from birth with prejudice. darkness rose from the deep and carried you down into sleep. you were never given hope, a chance at happiness, but instead grew strong in turmoil and rage. the voices beneath guide your path, one of rejection and isolation. your spirit hates all you do not know and have not been apart of. your behavior is a series of strings pulled by unseen forces, and forever alone you’ll be.
WHAT WE KNOW…
Past: When magic was at it’s peak in the mid 1600s, Joseph’s hatred was born the same day as he was. 1657 on a cold December night, Joseph came into the world wailing and almost entirely alone. His mother came from a long family line of witches - but she was void of all magic, and shunned because of it. Joseph Bishop had no contact with his family outside of his mother, who died young, but was raised knowing of magic and hating those who yielded it. His life was one of hate, rage, and violence, and no one in Salem dared cross him, except for Alice Bancroft. They were wed in 1691, but she was later killed by Joseph himself when he realized that Alice was a witch. By the end of 1690s, Joseph was responsible for the death of a dozen witches, and amassed a loyal following of other men resentful of the witches power.
Present: Joseph Bishop was murdered in 1699 by a distant family member of Alice Bancroft as an act of vengeance. After his death, one of his grandsons married a descendant of the Bancroft line, which caused great controversy in the early 1700s in Salem. Out of respect to the lives lost in the Witch Trials, all descendants from that family union since 1730 has hyphenated their name to Bancroft-Bishop, and only in the last 100 years has the mark of shame branded on the family line worn off.
Personality: All that is known now of Joseph is his bloodlust and hate for all things magic. He was a violent loner, living in the center of Salem in the 1600s, and often described as cankerous and power hungry. Though he married only once, he bore 3 children with 3 separate women, and was often praised for his good looks and cooking.
Joseph is a deceased NPC and will not be open for applications at any time.

There is a great deal of chatter and debate in my circle right now on how the Church counselled abuse victims to reconcile with their spouse and keep the family intact. I find the conversation wrong on so many levels but not for the reasons you think. Now, I know for a start that the initial days and weeks of bad situations are a confusing and emotionally conflicting time and the recipient of…

I told my husband (who never reads news/social media ever) everything there is to know about the Joseph Bishop/Mormonleaks story and he was astounded and appalled. I think we should be seeing more of that kind of reaction.
It's a very significant story, and yet not one of my LDS friends outside of Tumblrstake has posted anything about it on social media, not even to say "we should fix this." Maybe people are afraid to bring up that conversation for fear of sounding like a bitter ex-mo. I'm no exception to that. But in general, no one seems to want to acknowledge that this problem exists and no one wants to listen to or believe women. The silence is deafening
