Luke wasn’t really processing the world around him. Since escaping from the mine, he’d been running around in a haze. He’d made sure that Gio was taken care of, apologizing a dozen times over to make sure the other man know that being chased out of a broken mine by monsters was not his idea of a good time. No one had believed them, when they’d found civilization again, but he wasn’t surprised. Luke wouldn’t have believed him either, honestly. But when all was said and done, he still didn’t know what to do, or where to go-- or how he’d ended up here.
It was all too easy to pull out the picks that were always on his body and open up the door to Joseph’s place, still walking around in a haze as he entered and closed the door behind him. He vaguely recognized the man from the corner of his eye, commenting idly, “The first aid kit’s still under the bathroom sink, right?” And kept moving towards his destination. Arriving in the bathroom, he slowly started to come back to himself as he caught his reflection in the mirror, covered in rock dust and blood, now that he knew where to look. The pain was started to make itself known, and he pulled his jacket slowly off his shoulders and arms, revealing a slash along his arm that he’d done his best to bind with the tattered edges of his sleeve.
