Joseph Holt - Black
Like the name suggests, pitch black, with a creamy, off-white head. The head is usually larger than pictured. A nutty malt aroma strikes first, cleaner than many dark mild ales. The slightest hints of chocolate on first tasting, followed by a smooth, satisfying aftertaste. Almost zero carbonation, smooth mouthfeel. Overall, a quintessential session beer from Manchester’s finest. Deserved more than bronze at the International Brewing Awards 2013.
