Stiles isn’t sure what woke him: the rustle of bedsheets or his newly-acquired sixth sense to when he’s alone in bed. Either way, when he rolls to his other side and to the now unoccupied side of the bed, the sheets are still warm but when he opens his eyes and looks around he’s alone in the bedroom.

The door to the en suite bathroom is cracked open and while Peter doesn’t need any light to get around, Stiles can’t hear any noise coming from there. On a hunch, he gets out of bed and grabs one of the blankets they left at the foot of the bed. He wraps it around his naked shoulders and ventures out into the apartment.

It’s easy enough to find Peter: sitting on the living room couch, illuminated by the artificial lightning peering through the windows. 

Stiles comes closer, the lateness of the hour making him step carefully, even though Peter is surely aware that Stiles is no longer asleep.

Stiles rounds the couch and sits down right next to Peter, curling into him when Peter wraps an arm around his shoulders and pulls him closer.

He hums happily when Peter presses a kiss to his temple.

“I didn’t mean to wake you, darling.”

“It’s okay,” Stiles answers softly, “Bad dream?” 

“Just an unsettling one,” Peter replies. He tugs at Stiles and rearranges them until he has Stiles sitting sideways in his lap, his arms wrapped around Stiles’ middle, the blanket now wrapped around both of them.

“Wanna tell me about it?” Stiles asks, drops a line of kisses to Peter’s jawline.

Peter shakes his head no, squeezes Stiles a little tighter against his chest. “I’d rather just sit here with you for a while.”

Stiles smiles, nuzzles Peter’s stubbly cheek. “Whatever you want.”

Last Line Challenge

I was double tagged by @josjournal (thank you, by the way). So here are two things to share.

With the distinct lack of magic or praying, there was nothing to be worried about. For now. Stiles eased back into his chair, albeit a little closer to Derek’s head to keep his hand steady on his chest. 

And,

When he came back, Derek was in the living room. If Stiles’ glare could put him back down on the bed, he’d be six feet under it. “Who let him up?”
