JouninK is sick of dumb ass people in the con scene
I'm going into my Huey Freeman (Boondocks) mode again (lets see how many of you guys leave after this) *Dust off soap box & clears throat* Attention everyone get over yourselves! For the past few weeks my private facebook and fanpage news feeds have been bombarded with people so upset about the ignorant ramblings and snobby attitudes of a select few cosplay photographers and i'm so sick of it! Look, if you as a photographer don't think I have enough of a following to be able to withstand your dslr camera and rented lens, then oh well. You are not one of a kind and just like me as a subject, you too are interchangeable. If you as a photographer don't find me appealing because i'm "ethnic" (even though my cosplay is on point) you're a fool, especially when your a$$ is "ethnic" too. True you can be selective with your work and you don't have to include everyone, but when you act like your sh*t doesn't stink and you make highly offensive post on a public forum, don't expect for the masses to love you. Once you've shown that ugly side of yourself don't bother to "back peddle" and try to explain what you met, when your point was already pretty dang clear....You just look worse and weak. If you want to walk and talk like a " Bad A$$", then own it! We'd all have MUCH more respect for you if you simply said "i stick by my statement" then to try and flower it up and act like you didn't know what you said would be taken so literally. Also on the other spectrum...COSPLAYERS, if a photographer doesn't want to shoot you, move on. They are entitled to say "no" to you, just like you are entitled to say "no" to them....ya know the whole 2 way street thing? I've been snubbed by the same mutha freakin' people and yeah it was irritating and I was pissed, but who cares. Say whatever you have to say in the moment, then drop it. I've raged long enough (seriously i could talk about this for a while), but I just want people to realize that whether you're behind a lens or in-front of it, you are still a nerd. Your 100k+ likes don't mean jack outside of nerd-dom and I'm pretty sure you'll never be apart of a summer blockbuster movie so stop acting like you're some Hollywood celebrity. None of us are financial moguls in this hobby (well unless you have an actual multi-million dollar business outside of cosplay, but that's irrelevant). No one, including myself, does anything that some other mo-fo can't do when it comes to this hobby. Get over yourselves and act like you have some class! Be respectful, be gracious, be a good role model and actually learn from your mistakes! *walks away from soap box*
