JOB POSTING: TECHNOLOGY POLICY REPORTER
We are looking for a reporter to anchor a new daily newsletter focused on technology policy in Washington and how it affects major stakeholders outside of it. The main responsibility of this reporter will be to write an original, authored top that breaks news and delivers sophisticated analysis.
The ideal candidate will have several years of experience covering technology policy – preferably on Capitol Hill, the executive agencies or the tech lobbying world. Coverage areas would include the role of technology companies in the political process; antitrust issues; net neutrality and its implications as well as the increasing influence of tech companies in Washington.
The candidate should have the ability to zero in on critical incremental developments as well as pull back to tell broader, thematic stories. The reporter should also be able to write for readers inside the Beltway and those outside of it who want to understand how the nation’s capital works. They should be savvy on social media and they must be willing to work early mornings.
Those interested in this position should send their resume and three writing samples, in addition to examples of newsletter writing, to Rachel Van Dongen (Rachel.vandongen@washpostcom) or Tracy Grant ([email protected]) by Jan. 5.
