Once told she "could never learn to paint well enough to become a professional artist" Journey Allen now operates a thriving art studio in New Orleans’ 7th Ward where she grew up. In 2022 Arts New Orleans invited Journey to join this collaboration with Dove and JOY Collective and create this mural celebrating the CROWN Act—a law prohibiting discrimination based on hair texture and style.
