There were few things outside of fear that would make Lenora run. Sales on food items was one and every other reason was related to Rin. Did her little sister want to pretend she was flying? Time to hold her up -- even if she was ten now! -- and go zooming down the sidewalk. Did Rin quietly long for some limited edition ST☆RISH CD? Then it was time to get to the front of the line no matter the cost!
She would do anything for her. There was no question about it. It was simply automatic.
So even though she was next in line at the food court in the mall, Lenora immediately abandoned her position as soon as her brain confirmed who she thought she saw. It probably wasn’t him. Probably just some other guy with bright red hair trying perhaps a bit too hard to look ‘normal’ -- but something in her said otherwise.
So off she went. Weaving around mall-goers in clumps of three and four, shopping bag swinging somewhat wildly from the crook of her arm as she followed the young man with purpose. Every time he turned she caught just another angle of him that only made her re-confirm her suspicions.
That was him. It had to be. The posters on Rin’s side of their shared bedroom wall were mostly of him. Him and tennis-related things.
She would know for sure if she could only overhear him talk...for now, though, she shuffled after him like a stalker. She felt a little bad, but for her younger sister there was no limit to her potential creepiness.
She just had to catch up --
