Lesson 1 - Shell + Git / Other stuff im working on #BEWD
So first official class at the Backend Development Course today at General Assembly. I surprised my myself cause I was actually on time / train was on time. Anyway what I took home from this lesson.
- Using shell to run bash commands to run scripts which then runs multiple commands - WC = word count command - Running sublime text using SUBL - Sending pull request to other users has to be from your own repo (make sense now that I think about it).
Lesson Schedule: Its going to be a pretty busy 3 months ahead! Funny that the homework for the lesson was to setup a development journal, i guess i have that sorted!
Now to other cool stuff that I’m working on at the moment:
- Prototyping the GatheringUP mobile app on web using Chrome Canary. Then i use Adobe Edge Inspect to preview/debug on device. I will probably do a post tomorrow about Adobe Edge Inspect cause it is epic coolness.
- 2nd day of messing around with JQ mobi #appframework #intel. No issues with featured page. JQ mobi actually integrates native scrolling on IOS 5+ so the featured page scrolls' smooth as butter. But having display issues using leaflet.js (super light weight google maps alternative)
- Thinking about using Jquery to do cool animation like place result on google maps (IOS app) but worried about weighing the app down ??

Working on jqMobi 1.1 update
Recently I have been deeply involved in the 1.1 development of jqMobi (core) and jqMobi UI, and here I will try to point out some technical details of what was done, how, and why.
For those of you unaware, jqMobi is a jQuery-like framework - a DOM element(s) wrapper with common functionalities which jQuery's success as made a standard in the industry. The main difference is jqMobi focuses exclusively on webkit-based mobile touch devices - iOS, Android 2+ and Blackberry OS6+; So, although not nearly as featured as jQuery itself, it's performance is highly optimised for these devices.
On top of the core framework it has a neat UI plugin similar to many other "new age" mobile UIs ( Sencha, Enyo, jQuery Mobile, Kendo UI, etc).
