do soup clerics have a wide range of gods based on different kinds of soup or is this a one for all situation?
there are two gods of soup, and they are twins.
one represents survival. pushing through the winter and doing what you can to keep yourself alive. desperately trying not to poison yourself as you figure out with mushrooms will actually work. heating up another simple broth because right now that’s all you have in you to do, and that’s okay.
the other represents home. putting a big pot of warm, filling gumbo on the stove as your family and friends mill about. the feeling you get when you are full and surrounded by love and something in your chest softens. not just physical home either, like mugs passed around a campfire on an adventure too.
some clerics follow just one, but almost all of them follow both. they’re not contradictory, they are complementary. their domain mostly simplified as “soup” but there’s a lot more to that. it’s home and survival and most importantly, understanding that one without the other is an unfortunate way to live.
