Tentative Kandi redesign …. Look at my Beest. What is that thing…..

Basically just improving on the shapes & colours. Plus messing with its accessories …. I think it works I want it to be friendly but still sharp looking

Alright it’s JSDT time. Subject: Juice

To be brief, Juice is the main character (alongside three others that make up the main cast). He’s a cat from a small town who ends up going to a magic academy in the city, he’s depressed and combative but he loves art and is a fucking nerd. He meets the rest of the cast through the academy art club. Furry magic school hijinks ensue.

This is a tentative redesign from his current design. I wanted to give him a more distinct body type and some better shapes. I’m pretty satisfied with the direction it’s going in but I’m not totally sure where to go with it to be 100% good with how he looks. Definitely the shapes are good, but some areas need work. I’m not totally sure how to make the bandana work tho the shapes for the ends I think are an improvement on the usual teardrop shape. I like how his colours are looking for sure as well, I muted his palette a lotttt and it looks rly tasty to me. Also I gave him glasses. Dunno if I will keep them though .

Definitely open for criticism on his design but be NICE TO ME I’m a sensitive baby

I feel like I finally understand what my thesis for jsdt is and I’m really excited to work on it again soon. Right now I think my main goal is to get a rough idea of the plot written down. Mainly all the work I’ve done for it before now has been stupid amounts of worldbuilding and characters which has been fun but ultimately has gotten me nowhere lol. It’s such a trap, I just want to explore the world and make up new rules and functions and categories I can sort things into.

Webcomic Devlog #1

For a few years now, my brain has been overrun by this weird furry comic world. On my now abandoned Instagram account, I spoke often about this project. I’ve started to try and take it more seriously this past year and genuinely want to sit down and start working on a more thorough concept and eventually an actual script.

What do I have so far? Mostly, characters and worldbuilding. The plot itself is in some smaller, very poorly defined parts that just sort of float about in my mind.

Mostly I want to make these sorts of blog posts to talk about my comic and help keep myself accountable for working on it and to hopefully get some people interested in my work that means so much to me.

Here is the basic rundown about my comic:

The working title is Juice and the Scary Dark Thing. It centres of course, Juice, a furry cat who lives in Animagix, a world where everyone is a furry with a magic power. Magic powers are called loveforces in this universe. Juice is sent to an elite magic school called Silver Waters Academy, and meets some other weirdos, shenanigans ensue.

Of course there’s more to it than that. But we have lots of time to delve into that in future logs. For now, that’s all! Also, im happy to answer any questions about my characters or my world, it is a special interest of mine.

Been kinda rotating the idea of making jsdt into a vn instead of a comic …….. idkidk. It would be a lot of work but I can’t stop thinking about it. It would probably have rpg elements … I can pretty clearly picture how a lot of it would look.

But I also have a pretty clear vision for the comic version in my mind. Ack… I don’t know …!!!

Thinking about changing Silver Waters, the school from my wip, into a post-secondary school instead of a highschool. I think I would have more fun writing about young adults? But I’ve been writing them as teenagers for so long idk how I would even BEGIN to adjust it. I just think the highschool thang is played out & it being like a college type thing makes more sense. Plus I can give Juice a shitty job & make him even more miserable <3
