has this issue been blown waaaay the fuck out of proportion? yes. hell yes. and I put a big part of that blame on allkpop which is known for starting drama, spreading rumors, and just being a shitty toxic “”news”” sight for years. I don’t even know why y’all still go there in the first place but okay lmao.
However.
there are...a lot 👀... of y’all on here and twitter (especially twitter) with a big oppa didn’t mean it defence being swung around in full force. why? I’m not saying you shouldn’t defend jae from unnecessary hate (and most of it is unnecessary lbr) but going so far as to say he shouldn’t have apologized and calling everyone too sensitive and this and that is ugly.
just bc YOU weren’t offended or bc YOU dont think he needs to apologize doesn’t mean that him clearing his name is him being bullied/attacked/targeted for hate or whatever. If he read about the issue and understands where those who are offended is coming from and he wants to offer a sincere apology then that’s a good thing and should be applauded. he handled it maturely and that is the end of it.
and don’t forget that a language barrier exists and some ppl may have genuinely misinterpreted what he meant by “worthy”. and even if they are a native English speaker and still were offended by his comment, it’s not your place to tell them they are wrong. as jae himself knows, words carry weight and can hurt ppl even when it’s not your intentions. you can support jae and defend him from extra hate without blindly eating out of his ass when there are concerns about his speech. By that I mean I have seen ppl on Twitter this morning who admit THEY HAVENT EVEN SEEN THE VIDEO and yet were saying jae is right and everyone else are crybaby sjws. how can you have that big of an opinion on something you haven’t even taken a look at for yourself? We get it, you love him, but try to think critically sometimes okay
that being said, I don’t think what he said was particularly wrong and I completely understand going to McDonald’s when you are just getting the feel for a person instead of blowing cash like that. I get it. I’m on his side. But some of y’all need to watch how you are handling this bc yikes
congrats to hyukoh they are a great band and they really are very talented so I’m not really upset that day6 lost bc winning awards isn’t the most important thing tbh (even though we worked really hard for online votes and day6 were really really deserving of the award as well but..okay).
but it’s literally a fat slap in the face to have them be a backup band for got7 and there is nothing you can say to make me think otherwise. they have released 22 amazing songs so far this year yet they didn’t get a damn second to sing one of them??? mnet can really rot for that one. sure they were up on stage which is an achievement in itself but if it’s not what they deserve then what’s the point? they can do never ever AND one of their songs since you know, they were nominated for their songs and not got7s.
