Exploring || Chloe & Jennifer

Chloe couldn’t remember the last event she’d actually attended, that she wasn’t forced to go to for work, and she definitely didn’t remember the last event she’d attended that she’d felt comfortable at. When she heard about the Comic Con in London, though, it felt like the perfect opportunity to get out and try to enjoy herself for a few hours, and she ended up making plans with Jennifer to meet her there. She hadn’t seen the other girl in awhile, it would be kind of nice to catch up, and it would also ensure that she couldn’t back out, Chloe had trapped herself. She would never cancel plans if she could help it, she hated doing that, she hated feeling like she’d disappointed someone or she’d caused unnecessary problems for them, so as soon as she agreed to be there, she knew that she couldn’t back out.

The blonde showed up a little earlier than she had meant to, so she tried to stay out of the way, near the entrance so she could see if her friend walked in, and hopefully she would see her too, pulling her phone out of her pocket to take a picture of the crowd while she waited. At least if they didn’t find each other on their own, they could text their location or something and meet up from there. She hadn’t been to Comic Con for a few years now, and she felt terribly out of place, so she was glad she would have the company of someone she knew while she walked around and checked everything out, otherwise she’d feel a lot more anxious about even being there.

Au Revoir London || Josh & Jen

Truth be told, Josh was glad to be getting out of London for a couple of weeks -- things had steadily been going downhill again, especially after Emma had just up and left. She was one of the few constants he’d had left, and now she was gone, so what was he supposed to do? He’d given up trying to figure it out, closed off into himself and hidden away, throwing all of his attention into packing and moving, despite a few feeble attempts to hang out with someone -- anyone. He didn’t feel like he had any real friends left there, so it was definitely time to try and make things up properly with Jen. Sure, they were still friends, but things hadn’t been right for a long time. Two years and they’d never gotten back to where they used to be. It was hard, really hard, and he was desperate to move past that now.

Once they were out of the airport and in a cab on their way to the hotel, he glanced over in her direction and flashed her a grin. “So we can go out straight away and find macaroons, right? Because I’m leaving again if we don’t...” He laughed a second later, proving that he was only joking, but really, food was definitely the way to go as soon as they got there. Maybe a drink, wander around the city as the sun set. He did really love Paris, but it had been so long since he’d been able to enjoy it properly, and now the weather was warming up, it seemed like the perfect opportunity.

Here Comes The Bride || Emma & Jennifer

Could you get jet-lag flying to the States? Emma couldn't quite remember, though she was quick to chalk her grumpiness and lack of energy up to that. She wasn't allowed to be anything less than positive and perky, not until the wedding was over – everything had to be perfect for Jennifer. She'd promised as much. And so, downing a can of Red Bull on the journey from the airport to Jennifer's mother's house, Emma did her best to relax, to force herself into something other than this grey cloud which settled on her the moment she got off the plane. Though she wasn't one to worry about the little details, she checked her bags, time and time again to make sure she had the only things she had to bring – a personalised 'bride' onesie and two matching 'bridesmaid' ones for her and Laura.

Coming to the States so late, it really was the only thing that she could do, besides organise the “spa” bachelorette. Personally, she would have chosen a wild, raucous party which only gave further proof that there was a reason Jennifer was the one getting married, while Emma struggled to have a decent relationship with her cat, these days. Once her cab to the Lawrence residence pulled up, Emma handed over the cash to pay the fare and dragged her pathetically empty case up the path before rapping her knuckles against the door. In the few minutes it took to get a response, the Brit wondered just what she was going to be expected to do on the big day – she had been so flighty lately, forgetting things and flaking out and she really didn't want to be the reason something failed on the big day. When the door finally opened, however, Emma jumped to attention, grinning when she saw who she assumed to be Laura. “Either Jen's mum had her really young or you must be Laura,” she said, extending a hand before she was led through to where Jen was, grinning when she spotted her. “Bridesmaid number two, reporting for duty.” She said, opening her arms for a hug.
