Three things I can’t live without: My beautiful iPhone 5s that I worked my butt off for, lip balm and nasal spray (I'm addicted - I can't breathe without it)

Something I plan on learning: More in the area of medical Anthropology.  And keeping up my French language skills (they're dying slowly :(  I can still read and understand but my speaking/writing is terrible).

A piece of advice for all my followers: Don't give up on your dreams - everything is still possible, you just might have to work harder and longer for it, but the reward will be THAT much sweeter when you finally do achieve it.  xx

11 Questions from veganveela: (thanks for the tag!  I know you tagged my personal, hannabaorange, but I wanted to answer on this blog instead because a few relate to IBD which I don't talk about much on my personal)

1.  Favourite genre of movies?

Definitely comedy, or rom/com because I'm corny and boring like that.

2.  What’s the earliest memory you have?

Moving from Christchurch to Auckland when I was 2.5 years old, I remember sitting on the steps of our new house in Auckland and watching the movers bring boxes in.

3.  What are the first things you like to do when you wake up in the morning?

The first thing I do is go to the bathroom (like everyone with IBD I think) and usually spend like 20 mins there haha.  Then I have breakfast, take my meds, and usually shower if I'm not going for a walk.  Nothing special or interesting.

4.  What are the last things you like to do before bed?

READ!  I always read for at least half an hour before I turn off my light.

5.  Are you a city person or a small town person?

I live in a small town, I went to uni in a big city, and I like neither.  I prefer the medium sized places, where it's more personal than a big city, but there are more conveniences and shops and things than a small town.

6.  What’s your favourite Disney movie?

Oh gosh!  For classics, I love Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, and Sleeping Beauty.  But really I can't choose because I love all of them!

7.  Favourite meal that you know how to cook and prepare?

Pasta!  With vodka cream sauce.  Also sausage meat pie (sounds gross, tastes amazing.  Making it tomorrow night)

8.  Have you ever been on any sport team?

Yes, I used to play badminton, softball, volleyball and netball in school.  I also played badminton outside of school but now I live in a small town, there's no team here.

9.  If you could have any animal as a pet, what would it be?

I already have 3... cats!  I love cats.  But I kind of want a hamster, but we don't have those in New Zealand.

10.  What is your new year goal or resolution?

To get into remission with my Crohn's, preferably just with prednisone and Pentasa, none of the harder drugs.  To get a job (full time, now that I've finished my studies).  & of course to lose prednisone weight because it's really depressing and I feel awful about myself.

11.  What are you looking forward to in your life?

Travelling more, meeting more new friends, hopefully falling in love and having a family, but who knows.  I just want to make a difference in the world somehow too.

I saw that you've posted a lot about barium. My most recent Dr had me do a barium ct scan, but when I arrived, they only had me drink 1 liter of milk. You should talk to your doctor and see if this is an option for you! It produces the same scan.

Thanks for the suggestion—I’ve never heard that before!To be honest, though, milk doesn’t sit well with me and sometimes actually makes me gag. So I almost think having to drink that much milk would be worse for me. But that might be a great solution for others!
