True story. Was in Mandeville over the weekend. Went into a Winn-Dixie. Came out and my brake lines were leaking brake fluid. Had to get towed all the way back to New Orleans.
I'm not saying Jeff did it - I'm just saying my brakes were fine before I stopped in Mandeville.

This is the most author looking pic of me I have. While me and the rest of New Orleans waits to see how ol' Hurricane Barry will conclude I'd love to hear more of your questions, comments or whatever you got. Y'all have been sending me some great ones, and it's really cool to engage with folks here. Y'all have been an incredible source of feedback. I've learned that using the word 'ichor' was indeed as bad an idea as I suspected it might be. I've learned what fic-kin is and I'm still awestruck (in a good way lol) and I've seen some incredible character art. In fact one artist's depiction of Randy felt so right that I adopted it as his features in the upcoming Randy chapter. Y'all really are the heart of my motivation to write this series, and I can't stress that enough.
Y’all check this out. As an artist, whether you write, draw, sing, dance, narrate, photograph, sketch... whatever - your main job, the one thing that matters most - is that you encourage other artists. That’s it!
And notice how I say “encourage” and not “inspire.” I say this because inspiration is something that requires two - but encouragement, that my friend is all on you. And it’s as simple as listening, lending a kind opinion, critiquing from a place of positive intent. Share, retweet, reblog, comment, like... ALL OF IT! If you got a bunch of flowery shit you can say - GO FOR IT! If all you got at the moment is “nice” or “great job” GO FOR IT!
And that’s all there is to it. Even if you got creative block and haven’t written, drawn, sang, etc anything new in months, you can still ENCOURAGE daily. Do that and y’all have done your jobs!
