Ok ok ok ok but wow. The relationship between Johnny and Kuai Liang is so underutilised their dynamic is so cute? They have a similar level of straight man/comic relief thing going on as Johnny and Kenshi but as opposed to Kenshi, who matches his energy in his own ways, Kuai Liang is serious to truly ridiculous levels.
Johnny actually enjoys Kuai Liang's straight-laced attitude and respects him so much, while KL huffs at Johhny's quips but secretly really enjoys them???
When in MK11 Joker calls KL blueberry ice and Kuai Liang says: "only Johnny Cage can call me that and live"
When in MKX Cassie tells KL that her father speaks so highly of him. When Johnny fights him as a revenant, and in the saddest little voice tells him "I preferred it when we fought on the same side"? 😭
Not to mention their little "actually I want to you to mentor my daughter and her friends a little" which KL seemed really excited about actually (my man just loves getting ANY chance to mentor someone).
